Are you looking for fun and creative hands-on group activities that you can do with friends this weekend? Why not try out Slow Life Workshop's ceramic wall plaque class in Melbourne and learn how to design and create your very own wall geometric wall plaque.
In this two-day course, you will be guided through the step by step process of creating a beautiful wall plaque by an industry expert. You'll learn how to use the best clay and how to join and fasten the decorative ceramic tiles together to create a unique design.
On the first day, you will focus on learning how to roll out and cut slabs into your design, as well as assemble the shape of your wall hanging with the tiles.
On the second day, you will spend your time learning how to paint the tiles in a way that shows your own artistic style. You'll get the chance to meet like-minded individuals and get hands-on making your own piece of art from scratch!
Whether you're looking for indoor activities to do this weekend or fun things to do in Melbourne, this ceramic wall hanging class would be a fantastic pick for you! You'll finish this class feeling creatively invigorated and maybe even inspired to continue to make your own original art pieces using your newfound skills!
After the first session, subsequent sessions can be arranged with the teacher, at a time that suits you.
Hi my name is Leah Bright and I am a practicing artist and a teacher. For as long as I can remember I have loved to create artworks. I majored in Sculpture at University, creating large scale works and today my focus is using the combination of ceramics, drawing and painting. Ceramics is a process that completely grounds me. I love to discover it nuances, textures and ability to take on integral forms and structures.
I have a Bachelor degree in Fine Arts and a Dip Ed in Teaching. I have been practicing as an artist for 20 years and have been teaching in a Secondary School for 17 years. After majoring in sculpture at University, I discovered the love for how things are structured and formed.
The concept of Slow Life Workshops has grown from a desire to reconnect with the quiet self, whilst creating art in a magical setting. All workshops are held in inspirational environments. These locations are chosen for their beauty and their ability to transcend people on their personal journey.
Teaching art is a wonderful opportunity to share knowledge about skills and processes and to help facilitate individual’s to explore their inner artist. My teaching style is energetic and enthusiastic where students are encouraged to let themselves evolve.
