Brilliant! Parish gave clear instructions so generous with time, knowledge and materials. Left with an abundance of finished pieces that I love!! So many ideas for next time!!!
It was a wonderful class. Parish was very welcoming and generous with his knowledge and time and we created some beautiful artwork. Recommend for anyone!
Fabulous class, learnt a lot about the cyanotype process. Plenty of time to create some cool prints. Parish was warm, friendly and creative and made you feel very relaxed in his studio. Recommend to anyone wanted to get into this medium. A lovely morning with like minded people.
A well organised and enjoyable class where learning the art & science of cyanotype was made easy and interesting. Great materials and a generous teacher.
Everything was amazing! Parish was super helpfull. He answered all our questions and gave us all the knowledge to keep doing cyanotype at home :)It was fun and relaxed. We had the best time with my friends! I really recommend it
Another fantastic class with Parish, who creates a space where all participants can immerse themselves in creativity without requiring any specific artistic skills. Thank you Parish cheers dianne
Studio Lab is exactly what I didn’t realise I needed. It’s not a class in the traditional sense, which makes it incredibly freeing. I brought an unfinished project and had three uninterrupted hours to work in a calm, focused studio environment. The space feels intentional and steady, and working alongside others without pressure to produce a finished outcome was surprisingly motivating. It’s rare to find a setting that offers both independence and community at the same time. I left feeling grounded, clearer about my work, and genuinely reconnected to my creative practice.Highly recommended if you’ve been craving time and space to make without expectations.
I had a great time at the open studio! Parish is a lovely tutor, really knowledgeable, and gives you excellent guidance. This session really helped me to feel productive and creative. It’s the kind of environment where you can focus in on your own work, but still be supported the whole time. I look forward to coming back soon!
I had such a lovely time at the class! I've played around with cyanotypes before but being able to print my own photos as cyanotypes was such a unique and special experience! Chris (and Ella the dog) were incredibly helpful and I can't wait to go back!
I enjoyed the cyanotype workshop with Parish. It was relaxed, well organised, and easy to follow, even if you’ve never tried anything like it before. There was something really satisfying about the whole process, laying things out, not knowing exactly how it’ll turn out, and then seeing the prints come to life. It pulled everyone in. People were focused and curious Clear guidance, no pressure, lots of encouragement to play and experiment. I left feeling calmer and inspired
I attended Parish Stapleton’s cyanotype workshop in Redfern and found it to be a really well held, thoughtful and enjoyable introduction to the process. The session was inclusive and supportive throughout, and I felt seen and encouraged while still being free to work in my own way.Parish is highly knowledgeable and generous with his information. He shares both the technical aspects and the historical background of cyanotype with real clarity, making the method feel accessible without losing its depth. Learning about Sir John Herschel and Anna Atkins added welcome context, framing cyanotype as a practice that sits between science and creative exploration. One of the most valuable insights I took away was the power of simplicity. Working with a single fern frond showed just how striking the results can be when you allow the process to speak for itself. The moment of washing each print was always revealing and extraordinary. The pacing felt balanced and unhurried, giving plenty of room to experiment, ask questions and absorb the process. The small group size created an easy, focused atmosphere, and the environment felt relaxed and inclusive. I also appreciated the quiet presence of Ella, Parish’s chocolate Labrador, who observed from the corner and gratefully accepted every tummy rub offered. She added a gentle, grounding warmth to the space.I would recommend this workshop to anyone interested in alternative photographic processes or wanting to explore cyanotype in a supportive setting that balances technical learning with genuine creative discovery.
Great class, informative but got right down to creating prints without getting stuck on too much detail. Perfect for both total beginners or experienced photographers. Parrish was really engaging and friendly and the home made lemon cake was excellent!
What a wonderful way to spend a few hours, learning from scratch how to print Cyanotypes with Parish. We were welcomed at the door by the lovely Ella - a very well behaved chocolate brown labrador! Our class was an intimate group of 5. Parish guided us through the process and then we unleashed out creative side to produce our own prints. Parish was incredibly generous with his creative input, supply of materials and a delicious home made morning tea. What fun, I will definitely be booking another class.
Fabulous workshop learned heaps, Parish was very generous with his knowledge and time. Enjoyed a delicious home made fruit tart and meeting the beautiful Ella the Labrador, looking forward to attending another class.
A fun, creative workshop experience!Parish was very informative and generous throughout the workshop. There was a range of materials and inspiration on hand. We were encouraged to explore and experiment with different methods/mediums throughout the workshop, without being rushed. A nice touch of homemade cake for morning tea and pats with the lovely labrador Ella were a bonus. We left with many creations and extra items to keep making from home.Highly recommended for small groups and team workshops.
Absolute amazing class. I had such a soulful and inspiring experience at this workshop. The whole process felt calm, creative and deeply nourishing. Parish was very generous with his knowledge & materials. Will definitely come back for another class.
What a lovely morning! Parish was a very kind and knowledgeable host and we had a great time learning cyanotypes. Parish encouraged us to experiment with a wide range of materials. The studio was beautiful, the morning tea was a treat and Ella the dog was adorable! Excellent value for money, would definitely take another of Parish's classes. Thank you!
M. Parish is truly something special. I went in not knowing what to expect and left completely refreshed! the sweetest dog, the most delicious cake, and a beautiful creative atmosphere.
MParrish is great! We had an awesome time and would recommend the class to anyone no matter their skill level. Parrish is very generous with sharing his knowledge and there are many opportunities to ask questions and experiment to your heart's content. Planning on reattending
We gifted thew workshop for a friends birthday and it was such an amazing gift to spend it creating wonderfully pieces of art under the guidance of Parish. Everything was so very well set up and we got the most wonderful homemade vegan cake for morning tea.

Absolutely loved this workshop. The process of making Cyanotypes was clearly intructed in a very welcoming, cool, creative space. Left feeling inspired with some beautiful artworks and eager to return again! Would highly recommend this class.
This was our second workshop with Parish & we can't recommend highly enough. The Solvent Drawing Workshop was a fun morning with no drawing experience required! An extensive choice of materials were provided, along with tea, delicious cake, ice cream & entertaining conversation. The beautiful Ella & our dog Lolli also enjoyed the morning. Thanks again Parish!
We had a fantastic time in this class. The teacher was awesome, very knowledgeable and very generous with his time with each student. Our resulting pieces of artwork are very satisfying. I went to the class not know much about the craft of cyanotypes and now feel like I have discovered a whole new world of art form. Such joy!
This was definitely a fun, creative & relaxed intro class to cyanotype printing! The yummy choc cake was a sweet surprise! Highly recommend Parish’s workshop.
We really enjoyed the class - it was a really peaceful and relaxed environment and Parish gave individualized instruction to support each participant at their level. He was very knowledgeable and had a range of resources available to extend individual designs. We all left inspired and keen to do more workshops with Parish, to realise future designs using our personal photos and design themes. Note: all photos are works in progress.
Such a mindful creative class! Working with a medium I’d never worked with before, it was interesting to approach art from a different perspective. Parish made a lovely welcoming space with cake and tea. All around a great class, would highly recommend for those looking to be creative outside the box!
Loved this class lost track of time and loved walking away with a stack of beautiful works. Parish hosts in such a relaxed and easy way that makes it easy to play and explore
What a great workshop! It was fun, relaxed, and creative, producing quick results. Parish is an excellent teacher and generous with ideas, knowledge, and materials. He also cooked a lovely cake for morning tea! I highly recommend this workshop.
Had the best day with Parish in his studio! The solvent technique is really easy to pick up, which is awesome because you get to spend a whole day playing and creating. You can add so many different layers - coloring, painting, collaging etc! It’s something you can easily continue to do at home and use to make homemade cards or art or just for fun. Parish is a complete gem and of course, Ella. Definitely recommend!
It was well thought and organised. The atmosphere was homely which made beginners like me process from start to finish a pleasurable experience, looking forward to the next. Thank you coach.
Bought me and my friend vouchers to go to this class for his birthday, and he loved it! Parish was such a warm and kind host, with delicious cake, tea and the sweetest brown lab (I'm so sorry I can't remember her name!). We had a small class of 3, but it was perfect to have space and move around, and plenty of table space to work with. A great introduction into printmaking in general, as Parish is more than happy to talk about all kinds of art with you if you're keen! Looking forward to trying out the solvent drawing workshop that is also run by Parish. I think we ended going a bit overtime, but there is no rush to leave, and felt like I made a new friend! Thanks so much Parish!
This workshop was so much fun! It is both a very creative process but also simple enough to learn and get started with. Would totally reccomend! And for sure I will be back for a future one.
Parish's solvent drawing class is such a fun experience in a suitably creative environment. Everything we could possibly need was provided, and we got to take materials home to continue experimenting and creating. Parish is an excellent teacher who really encourages play. It's great value - no matter your creative skill level, you will walk away from the class with something beautiful.
Thoroughly enjoyed the workshop. Parish introduced to us the history of cyanotypes and demoed how to do it. He had a wide collection of florals we could use and encouraged us to experiment with glass as well! There was also a delicious vegan carrot cake and tea that Parish had made for us, which made the creative flow very enjoyable. Would recommend anyone to take this beginner friendly workshop.
I didn't know what to expect as I was late to join the group, and didn't really do a lot of research beforehand. I can tell you absolutely loved everything about the two and half hours we spent with Parish. He was so informative about the background of cyanotype photography and then we spent our own work for over 2hrs.I have already mentioned to a number of friends we should spend a Saturday doing this! well worth the time and so affordable.Margo - Willoughby NSW
Booked the class for my sister and myself as a birthday gift.Had seen Parish's work in the past and loved the idea.Parish has a wonderful way of parting his knowledge and creativity. All materials were provided and the space is perfect with lovely light and a peaceful leafy outlook. Ideal for our small group to move around and and also to help encourage each other with ideas along with Parish's gentle tuition. The best part was plunging the piece in water and seeing the piece taking its final form.I encourage anyone whether they have artistic talent or not to try one of these classes. So much fun as well and the time flew. His dleicious lemon cake was a bonus!Great value for money.Thankyou Parish. I'll be back.
