In these lessons we want to show you that everyone can draw! Drawing always starts with learning to ‘see’ like and artist. Then it’s all about learning to enjoy the practice!

In these introductory drawing classes you will be introduced to line, shape, tone and colour using simple drawing materials. You will see examples by master artists and gain insight into what they were trying to achieve in their own work. You will be introduced to different ways to start an artwork, what to focus on and how to feel successful with our achievements. Discover the joy

Week 1 - 25 Oct Getting lines right
Drawing starts with a line. Learn how to see and sketch with confidence.

Week 2 - 1 Nov Seeing Shapes
Start to see shape and proportion as it really is. Lots of secret tips on how to get your compositions correct.

Week 3 - 8 Nov Time for tone - Learning 3D Shading
Learn how to create the illusion of a three dimensional shape on a flat surface and understand how to push graphite pencils to create form and depth.

WEEK 4 - 15 Nov Charcoal skills - Tone and Tactility
Introduction to the medium of charcoal drawing.

WEEK 5 - 22 Nov Intro to colour pencils
Learn how to maximise colour and blend with colour pencil.

WEEK 6 - 29 Nov Still life with colour pencils
Use your new found drawing skills to create a vibrant still life artwork.
