HI!! My name is Rose. I am a professional artist and am an experienced children's art teacher and College lecturer.
I love drawing and painting, making and creating. My family run an Art School, founded in the 1890's by my Great Great Grandfather.
Last year I studied there full time, taking a year out from a work and from teaching.
I work for various companies again now, and i paint and draw and exhibit. I pose as a model for other artists sometimes too!

I am passionate about art, and about teaching art. I believe it is of the upmost importance to children to at least be offered an education in art. I believe all children are artists, and it the nurturing of that gift that can make the space in their later life for wonderful creative opportunities.

ARTIST BIO
Rose Ashton was born in 1983 into a family of artists (her great, great grandfather, Julian Ashton was an English born artist who founded the prestigious Julian Ashton Art School in Australia. The oldest art School in Australia which her family still runs today. Past students include Brett Whitely, John Olsen and George Lambert)

Her kin taught her the fundamentals of the craft, but her affinity for tradition reaches further into the work of contemporary art and abstraction.
Rose works across various mediums and consistently pushes the boundaries of her imagination. Starting with pencil, under the guidance of her grandfather, Cedric Ashton – Rose has transformed her craft across canvas, found object, and collage. In recent years finding the power of street art compelling her canvas she has begun working on large scale murals and political art, while nurturing the inspiration of continuous line has drawn a quick and electric buzz internationally from a vide variety of collectors, celebrities and corporations.

Clients include Corona, Levis and US global accessories company Stance, who lean on Rose up as a Global Brand Ambassador and with who she is anticipating the August release of her collab range. Currently back in her Sydney studio working on various projects and releasing a small first run of prints for sale.
