A fibre artist, designer, teacher and history nut, I am fascinated by all forms of colour and pattern in daily life as an expression of culture and identity.
My influences come from various parts of history both ancient and modern, and the natural world.

I love teaching and sharing what I know, helping people to stretch their skills and create new experiences.

As a teacher with 25 years experience, I get a real buzz when a student who hasn't tried a specfic craft before - not only masters it, but becomes excited by the ways they can use their new skill.

I started in Jewellery design when I was in my early 20's, then discovered that all the things I love to do (design, dye, draw, felt, paint etc) could be used in the practice of 'Free Form Embroidery'.

I taught the 'Foundation course' in Colour & Design at the International School of Colour & Design.

I am a published textile designer & also run week long textile experiences in Tasmania every January.
I have exhibited many of my pieces in a variety of spaces & had one piece auctioned off to raise money for the Embroiderers Guild of NSW.

I bring all of these experiences to my teaching of Free Form Embroidery & encourage students to explore the potential of this art form.

We learnt 17 different stitches and about designing embroidered pieces. Narda is an excellent teacher - it was paced nicely for beginners and she’s a wonderfully inspiring and encouraging teacher. Everything was provided and we got lots of tips for how to continue with our newfound embroidery passion. A great intro.

Excellent class! Narda was an experienced, knowledgeable teacher and wonderful host. Additional information on colour theory & design processes were very helpful. The brownies & coffee were delicious & the space very comfortable and perfectly set up for stitching. Materials provided were more than I expected and great quality. All around amazing experience.

I’m so happy that I found Narda’s embroidery workshop on Classbento. From the moment I arrived Narda was extremely welcoming. She has an unbelievably beautiful space to work in, and is extremely knowledgable on so many topics. I was blown away by the wealth of resources she has to offer plus how passionate she is about sharing her skills with others. I will definitely attend more of her workshops. Thank you Narda!

Super easy to get to from the station and straight away you receive all the embroidery gear you need. After that you learn a wide array of stitches which are taught very clearly and with that and the handy information pack you are given you will have all the tools you need yo get started on embroidering pretty much anything you want. Narda is a lovely teacher who is happy to revise any details as many times as you need and has a wonderful selection of teas to be paired with dessert.
