What you'll do
Support a not-for-profit and learn the foundations of pottery and wheel throwing, in this six-week introductory pottery course in Collingwood with Little Woods Studio!
With the guidance of our experienced ceramic tutors, you will learn the basics of pottery in an encouraging environment, starting with a slab of clay you'll turn it into an amazing unique piece of ceramic art! In the course you will learn how to wedge, centre, form vessels on the pottery wheel and finish pieces by trimming, decorating and glazing. You will also be introduced to the basics of ceramics theory and good studio art studio practice (including OH&S guidelines).
During this 15 hr course, you'll focus on making functional ware such as cups, bowls and vases. The groups are limited to 8 participants, so you'll get lots of individual tuition.
After completing the pottery workshop, you have the chance to continue making work in Little Woods Studio's self-guided open studio sessions with the option of getting your pottery pieces fired in our kilns.

Things to know:
Please make sure your nails are short as it will interfere with using the wheel!
Pieces can be collected 3-4 weeks after the course has finished.
No prior experience required- perfect for beginners!
All biqsued/ glazed finished works are charged at $12 per Kilo.
All profits from workshops held at Little Woods Studio go towards supporting the work of Jesuit Social Services.
