Hi I'm Carli and I'm a cake teacher.

I grew up in Perth, in a house where my mum made delicious treats every weekend from scratch.

I’m talking vanilla slice, chocolate eclairs, fairy cakes, cinnamon scrolls. Really, I could go on.

I got diagnosed with a nut allergy at 19, and it kind of flipped my dessert world upside down. I knew I would have to learn to bake for myself to enjoy safe treats and satisfy that sweet tooth.

My dream became a reality when I studied at TAFE and ran a successful home baking business for many years, baking safe treats for all occasions. I then discovered a love of teaching. I’d once planned to study a dip Ed and go into teaching so I guess it makes sense, but wowee, do I get a buzz out of it!

I have a passion for food and I LOVE sharing my baking tips with others so they too can create delicious memories with loved ones. I’m not sure there’s anything better than sitting down and savouring some home-baked treats, so I want to pass that on to as many people as I can.

I am also about making baking easy and fitting in around your life/health/kids. Baking doesn’t need to be overly complicated or mean needing more tools that you know what to do with. I’m all about simplicity.

I had such an enjoyable morning at Carli’s Buttercream Cake Decorating Class. Carli is friendly, knowledgeable and so approachable during the class. I learnt a lot in the class not only about how to make and decorate with buttercream but also about how to bake a beautiful cake at home. Unable to attend class due to illness. Have tried on day of course and multiple times subsequently to get in touch with teacher - email, text and phone - no answer/reply. While I do agree voucher clearly stated no rescheduling or refund, it's a shame that no conversation is possible or even attempt to engage knowing that while someone has a contagious illness, it's impossible to attend. Can't recommend as such.

Carli always has lots of info to share. The class was both enjoyable and informative and a bonus was that we got to take our cakes home. I came away with lots of tips for decorating cakes with buttercream. Excellent value for money.

This is the 2nd class I've done with Carli and it won't be the last. Her classes are a perfect combination of information, hints, tips, support and laughs.
