What you'll do
Begin your candle making journey in style at this interactive class with Australia's candle chef, Renna in Parramatta. Whether you are interested in making candles for the markets or for fun, retail or giveaways, this is the perfect way to get started.
This hands-on candle workshop will give you insight into fascinating facets of soy wax candle making including:
- Wick selection for different types of containers and jars
- Dyes and additives
- Equipment and tools of the trade
- Colouring and fragrancing
- Fragrance oils versus essential oils
- Types of jars, tins and containers
This workshop will teach and inspire you to make your very own soy candles and is designed to teach you simple techniques to achieve the best soy candles without spending a cent on specialised equipment.
At the end of the class, return home with all the candles you've made, to the value of $80 minimum. Please be aware that the weather can affect how fast candles are set so the class may finish up to an hour later.
Please note: If the class numbers are too low to run, then classes may be cancelled by The Parramatta College - thank you for understanding.

The Parramatta College has been at the forefront of community education in the region since 1986.
