In this ceramics class you will learn all of the basics of clay handbuilding and have some fun decorating ceramics.

This beginners class is perfect for anyone who is interested in learning how to work with clay. You will have the chance to experiment and make your own ceramic project such as a mug, planter or even your own jewellery and vases.

The class will be a mix of demonstrations and hands on making time. I will take you through a range of techniques including how to pinch clay, the method for coiling, slab work and under glazing.

After the class your pieces will be dried, fired, glazed and fired again.I'll be in touch three to four weeks after class when they're ready to be picked up.

Bonnie Hislop is a Brisbane based creative with a particular focus on ceramics.

From her Brisbane studio she creates functional ceramic art pieces that are meticulously hand built and painted with bright colours and intricate line detail. As a self confessed accidental cat lady, Bonnie's current practice has evolved from a small range of cat (and occasionally dog) vessels to include an ever expanding and evolving array of creations.

Bonnie has several years experience facilitating regular classes ceramic illustration and hand building techniques at various venues around Queensland. She has recently opened her first Brick and Mortar Showroom and Painting Studio in Fortitude Valley’s California Lane, and is currently preparing to open a second maker space in Yeerongpilly.

She is a featured in Frankie magazine's book of Australian creatives, 'Look What We Made'.
