ClayMotion was established by Dawn Whitehand, a practicing artist since 2000. The studio offers a beautiful and peaceful art-making environment for a diverse community of makers ranging from emerging and established artists to anyone in the general public looking to learn a new skill. At ClayMotion it's all about using art and clay as therapeutic and expressive mediums through workshops, classes and private events.

The class was fabulous. Dawn is a great teacher - her instructions are clear, she broke down the steps, and gave good demonstrations. I'm ecstatic with my olla can't wait for it to be fired and home in the ground! Highly recommend this class.

Dawn our teacher was amazing. So patient and explained things simply.
The group decided to do bench work instead of wheel and the session was relaxed and productive with many bowls and planters being made.
Dawns study was in a beautiful setting and so peaceful.

What a great class! The teacher was lovely and very patient with very inexperienced pottery people. The tools and materials were ideal and it was great to have a go at both the hand molding and the turn tables.

I attended the 2 hour beginner acrylic pour class with Dawn. She was well prepared for the class with written info, samples, plus a step by step demo. We made 2 pieces of artwork. Dawn was very helpful and knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions. A great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Thank you Dawn!

I found the class therapeutic and a good stress reliever, and with a nice social atmosphere. There were plenty of materials and tools and I felt it was good value for money coming away with two simple pots to take home and some basic knowledge of one method of shaping clay.

I have wanted to do pottery since I was a child so the excitement was palpable. What was so surprising was this teacher’s love and support shown to everyone. Her patience, good humour, inclusive way of teaching made it such a safe place to learn in. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and signed up for a full term. I recommend her classes to everyone.
