Intensive Concrete Homewares Workshop

Learn the in's and out's of concrete homewares at this one of a kind intensive concrete class

2.5 hours Class size 6 to 10     label $160

Perhaps you’ve experimented a little bit with concrete before and would like to learn more. Maybe you even want to start your own craft concrete homewares business. You could even be a complete newbie to the world of concrete homewares but want to dive in head first and learn all the ins and outs straight off the bat.

During this workshop, your passionate teacher will show you how to make five coloured concrete pieces including an oval tray, a round vessel and three mini hexagon candle holders. We’ll use a quick set concrete so that you can take all your pieces home on the day.

While they’re setting we’ll show you some other ways to make concrete homewares using things you can find around the house and share all of the techniques we’ve learnt along the way including:

  • Basic mould making
  • The different types of concrete
  • Techniques and finishes including marbling, layering and terrazzo.
  • Sealing
  • Failed and triumphant experiments!

Come armed with all your burning questions - your teacher loves sharing all their tips about working with concrete and about small business life.

I’m Kristy Tull— the designer and maker behind Fox & Ramona, a Melbourne-based label creating a range of original concrete homewares and art prints.

Working with concrete is a process I adore - the alchemy of liquid becoming solid. Mixing, colouring, pouring, drying - the process is uncontrived and unpretentious, but the results are beautiful and organic, and no two pieces are ever the same. The joy of handmade is always the distinctiveness and individuality of each piece.
