Three friends and I attended the terrarium class for my birthday last Saturday morning. The setup was personal and intimate being made feel welcome from walking through the door. Chris and Paloma were very knowledgeable and made the experience fun and interesting. I loved my little terrarium and the experience as a whole. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Attended the class today. Found Christopher to be an excellent teacher. I really enjoyed my class. All the equipments where provided by him. Very informative. I had a fantastic time learning about terrariums and making our own! Chris was a fantastic teacher. He is very knowledgeable at the craft, very patient with students and gave very helpful feedback and suggestions often. I chose a difficult pot to work with but he guided me on every step of the way and pointed out fantastic way to make the terrarium look great! And I got to take it home! This was a superb class set in peaceful surroundings with ample space for each student. The teacher was very friendly and knowledgeable. The class was really enjoyable, would recommend to anyone, even if you don't have green fingers :)

I absolutely loved this class, I bought it as a surprise birthday gift for a friend and I think it's an experience definitely worth trying.
The workshop/store was very relaxing and intimate. We arrived a little late due to difficulty finding parking, however Chris our teacher patiently waited for everyone to arrive. Chris was very open with answering any questions from the class and we did not feel rushed during the whole process.
I've never made a terrarium before, but this beginner class was fun and easy to follow as we were provided with all the tools needed and tea!
Overall, I would recommend trying this out, and by the end of it you get to take home a beautiful creation of your own!

This class was brilliant! I was a bit apprehensive about going on my own as it was bought for me as a present, but I needn't have been at all. I had such a good time - it was the perfect outlet to have some chilled out 'me time' as well as getting my creative juices flowing!
The teacher was excellent, really attentive and answered all our newbie questions! The space was very cool and has made my instagram feed look sweet, the materials were really high quality too. Best of all, you get your amazing creation to take home, which has definitely made my apartment look a lot more classy.

The venue was in a wonderful village atmosphere and the florist shop and teacher added to this. The area was small but not cramped, the materials were first class and plenty of selection to complete the terrarium. I came back for a second class, and I'm glad I did! I love how every class is different, from the ingredients of the day (stones, succulents, vases and other decorations), and of course the dynamics with the other students and the teachers. It made it a familiar but fresh experience. And I'm happy to report that despite my previously terrible track record with plant maintenance, I've been able to keep the terrarium from my first class a few months ago healthy, sitting happily on my desk collecting compliments from passersby.

The teachers were fantastic: they were accommodating, funny, informative, and downright cool. Not to mention the actual terrarium class was completely relaxing, engaging, fun, and informative. My friend was late to the class, but they were happy to run it again just for him after our group session, while I waited with a second cup of tea in hand. We didn't get to meet the owner, who also runs classes, but you wouldn't know it from the highly enthusiastic and engaging shop assistants! Highly recommended!

Our instructor Mitch is super friendly and helpful. The venue (a florist!) is cosy for a small and intimate group of 3.
We learnt about how to take care of our terrarium, more importantly letting our creativity run wild to create our very own terrarium. The materials supplied and the tips from Mitch definitely give us enough options to create our very own masterpiece.

This terrarium making class was a great experience. Teacher was very knowledgable, made the subject matter easy to understand and was also more than happy to answer questions about other plants too.
The store was fairly easy to find, all you have to do is look for the nice plants out the front. I would definitely recommend doing this class if you are at all interested in terrariums, the class makes it look easy and everything is provided.

The teacher, Chris very friendly and knowledgeable about all aspects of creating and arranging a Succulent Terrarium. The venue was a lovely little Florist Shop in the heart of Bourke St., Redfern, an easy walk from Central Station. All materials were provided and we were encouraged to choose our own plants to create our own design. Very good value for money. My daughter bought me this terrarium making workshop for Mothers Day for her and I to do together. We were warmly greeted by Mitch and Chris on arrival and offered a cup of tea.
The workshop takes place in the flowershop front and whilst I initially thought the space was pretty small I soon learnt there was plenty of room. Mitch was a great teacher, he taught us everything we needed to know about how to build the terrarium to how to care for the succulents. Mitch was really engaging and great fun. Both my daughter and I thought this workshop was excellent and the end product was beautiful - we are very happy with out terrariums.

My husband gave this class to me as a Christmas present and I was delighted with his choice. The teachers were friendly and knowledgeable, kept the class running despite the minor setback of a blackout in the area and were attentive to each of the students. We were shown how to build up our dry terrarium glass bowl with each layer of material, receiving information on the purpose of each and important tips on things to avoid. I left the class with a beautiful succulent terrarium and the knowledge of how to build my own terrarium at home. I learnt that it is possible to propagate new succulents from broken off 'leaves' and am showering TLC on the pieces I took home in the hope that I will be able to use some of them in the next terrarium I make.
The venue was lovely. I enjoyed being surrounded by the beautiful indoor plants and cut flowers. This class is highly recommended.

Great class with such a friendly and comfortable atmosphere. I'm a nervous person but I had a lot of fun and despite the unfortunate power failure in the region, it was resolved quickly with romantic candle lights. Though the lights did eventually turn on again. Great people, service, plants and overall I love it. The terrariums turned out better than I expected.

Loved this class! The location was lovely (at their shop in Bourke St), and Nicole greeted us and settled us in with a cup of herbal tea. Our tutor Chris was awesome, very knowledgeable and happy to chat about plants in general (I'm an orchid enthusiast and I got a few great tips). There were plenty of supplies, and Chris encouraged us to give our terrarium our own touches; everyone's looked individual and special. The class size of six was perfect, and my friend and I had a great time. Chris also gave us enough information about how to create our own terrariums at home. I thoroughly recommend this class!

I absolutely loved the terrarium workshop! The teacher was so relaxed and helpful and shared knowledge and tips for our plants at home as well as guiding us through our terrarium making.
All the equipment and items were beautiful and there was great variety of rocks, stones, plants and even little handmade, stone animals to put in the terrarium!

Such a great experience! My friend and I really enjoyed ourselves. Our teacher was really lovely and full of plant knowledge. The working space, materials (vase, plants, soil, moss, stones and decorative pebbles) and guidance were all great. I got to ask a bunch of random plant care questions too which was a bonus! I'll definitely go back for some other classes.

Teacher was knowledgeable with a fine selection of plants and materials made available to design and build your own terrarium. Enjoyed it so much that we were sad when it ended. Only improvement would be to see some completed designs and to be shown all the types of rocks before we stared to design our own terrarium. We felt it may have improved our design given we had never done this before.

The terrarium making class was so fun! I learned a lot, enough that I definitely feel like I could make one again on my own at home! The teacher was very knowledgeable, and the class was beautiful in an actual flower shop. He was even so kind as to provide us all with a hot beverage from the cafe next door, an excellent touch! This is the fourth time I’ve attended a class with Chris at Merchant & Green and it may be my favourite yet. Chris is knowledgeable and creates a relaxed environment that I love. My sister and I bought the kokedama class for my Mum as a present. We all absolutely loved it. The Shop was beautiful with some amazing and different flowers and arrangements. The teachers were so lovely, and really know their stuff. They made the class so fun. All the materials were provided and were of a high quality. Would highly recommend this class. Chris and Mitch were so friendly and inviting - they were wonderful teachers and hosts for the night. The shop was a beautiful intimate space with lots of pots and plants that we couldn’t help but buy too! The class was lots of fun and even the most uncoordinated were able to get the hang of it! Located in a quiet and leafy street, this workshop was so much fun and set at a really leisurely pace. The morning didn't feel rushed and we were taught kokedama in a set of really easy to digest steps and were guided throughout the whole process. Enjoyed this workshop very much. The venue was beautiful and very conducive to working with plants, being surrounded by them and also beautiful flowers. The teacher was knowledgable and had a supportive, easy manner. Everyone in class achieved a great result and I was very happy with the three Kokodamas I bought home. I got this workshop as a gift for my hubby who loves gardening and was looking to learn more about kokedama. Chris was our teacher. He was friendly and warm and a good instructor. The tasks were sequenced well, in increasing difficulty and we felt confident with each new task. The materials we used were of great quality and we got to take home the kokedama we created. We had guests over the next day and they were super impressed with our creations!

I did the Kokedama workshop on the 21st September at Merchant and Green Florist. It was a reasonable group of six persons surrounded with beautiful flowers and plants. An enjoyable and full of fun afternoon. The teacher (Orla) showed us how to make the Kokedama. And she patiently guided everyone of us to the end of the class, and answer any questions promptly.
I brought home different sizes of Kokedama with succulents and maiden hair.

The room was well set up on arrival, with aprons infont of each chair. We started on the making the small one with lovely teacher explaining each steps, then we moved to middle size which I enjoyed as we had learnt the techniques of how to do it now, then on the bigger one! Instructions card how to card n water given to us at the end. Highly recommend this class!

I attended this course in yesterday with my daughter and I really enjoyed my time here it was such a great hands on course. The teacher was really knowledgeable, friendly and patient. Merchant and green was in a great easy to find location with plenty of parking in nearby streets. Such an amazing florist with some really beautiful products/ gift wear/gifts to purchase. I thought that the course was great value for money and am glad that I finally got to attend (covid made me postpone three times) I will even purchase an online course for my mum i enjoyed it so much.
