Calling all vegan cheese lovers! Learn how to make incredible, vegan cheeses in this Queensland workshop with Permaculture Produce.

At this eco-friendly class, you will learn all about culturing plant-based vegan food products. This workshop will be a mixture of demonstration and hands-on cooking in small groups, with tips, talking and tasting.

What we will be making:

  • Halloumi.
  • Meltable cheddar.
  • Blue vein.
  • Camembert.
  • Mozzarella.
  • Rich creamy sauce for pasta.

Fermentation is an ancient practice, used to preserve and enrich your food. This workshop aims to bring the knowledge of this craft to all aspiring DIY plant-based cheesemakers, with reliable guidance to what works and what does not.

Teacher is knowledgeable and covers a lot of different cheeses. Not as hands on as I was expecting, but someone in the group makes each cheese while the presenter talks it through so there’s the ability to see it in action and have a go. During the mid workshop break, people can try samples of the same types of cheeses being made.
