What you'll do
Get ready for the marbling experience you have been waiting for! Now available to you right in your own home. Conveniently choose to have everything you need sent to you or pick and choose for yourself.
This workshop will be delivered through video, instruction sheet and live zoom class.
Traditional marbling techniques will be taught, beginning with making your own size. You'll learn to mix up paints and your teacher, Isabelle, will demonstrate step-by-step, 10 different marbling patterns for you to easily try.
We will marble primarily on paper, however, you are welcome to bring your own items to try; shells, fabric etc. One ceramic Christmas bauble is also included in your kit.
The video will demonstrate making your size and making your own marbling combs. At the live workshop, we'll demonstrate paint mixing, troubleshooting and a step-by-step guide to 10 marbled patterns.
Spaces are limited for this workshop. The closing date for booking for those requiring materials delivery is Monday 4th October.
The 'Class and Box' option gives you everything in your kit, as well as free postage anywhere in Australia.
This set of materials provide you with enough size for two marbling sessions. You can use half for the class and save the other half to make later for further practice.
Refunds:
No refunds for online workshops once materials have been sent out. A video will be sent out one week before class and a Zoom link will be sent out to you a few days before. We'll start gathering students 10 minutes before the workshop. Lateness will not be accommodated.

Isabelle McGowan is a Florence-trained Bookbinder working through her Bindery, the Owl & Lion. She specialises in Historical Repair and Restoration of Books, Fine Bindings and Traditional Gold Finishing.
Isabelle completed her Fine Arts Degree (Drawing and Painting, Printmaking) at the Edinburgh College of Art, in Scotland. She went on to train as a Bookbinder in Florence, Italy.
The original Owl and Lion Bindery was situated in Old Town Edinburgh, Scotland.
In late 2017, Isabelle and the Owl and Lion Bindery relocated to Sydney, Australia.
