In this fun and informative workshop, which is perfect for beginners and those interested in the catering industry, you will learn from an expert forager about the most common species growing in your garden, along the green belts, parks and beaches. Find out how they have been used for food, craft, and natural remedies.

You will learn the what, where and how of collecting a meal from the land and sea. Find out about the most common plants and seaweeds and their uses from an Indigenous and cosmopolitan perspective. We will touch on issues of legal restrictions, ecology, and fragility of ecosystems, stewardship, and care for the ecologies around you.

Discover ways to safely harvest from the urban 'wild' and enrich your diet with vitamins and minerals. Gain identification skills and get empowered by meeting, touching, smelling and even tasting the plants. This is a family-friendly workshop and a fantastic time to be out gaining plant knowledge and discovering all the possibilities of local wild food in Sydney.

This is a fun indoor activity, suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 7 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.
