What you'll do
Learn how to make a variety of fused glass jewellery pieces at this kids glass fusing class in Melbourne. It's perfect for school holiday activities, casual sessions and birthday parties for kids! Everyone will take home up to eight pieces of unique jewellery.
This class is perfect for kids over 10, with no experience required. Kids are guaranteed to have a fun time making unique jewellery pieces in a cool, arty environment. The special hand-made jewellery items that kids will make are perfect to wear or as a gift and everyone will gain plenty of new skills.
Kids will learn how to make five different types of glass jewellery, which will then be made into pendants earrings, rings, brooches or cufflinks. During the class, we will cover how to cut class and see how different glass behaves to achieve different outcomes.
Kids will learn how to make:
- Fused glass jewellery with a variety of finished surfaces
- Dichroic glass jewellery
- Cabochons (colourful glass beads and organic shapes) using a variety of techniques
- Jewellery using reactive glass
- Jewellery using inclusions like silver foils
- A variety of stacking techniques to create unique pieces
Kids can make up to eight pieces of jewellery as part of the class with a maximum of six dichroic pieces (if you would like to make more pieces there will be an extra charge for the glass and jewellery findings).
These beautiful pieces of jewellery will be left at Merryl’s Mosaics for firing and can be picked up about a week later.
Minimum 3 kids required to run the session as I need a specialist teacher (If there are less than 3 kids we'll notify you and we can book you to the next session).

No experience required. Most suitable for kids from 10 years plus.
What you'll get
You will make up to eight jewellery pieces including attachments. You will be given your findings and a small tube of jewellery glue when you pick up your pieces to take home and stick onto your jewellery pieces.
What to bring
- All materials provided.
- Bring a snack if you want to.
- Please wear casual clothing and closed shoes.
- If you want to wear safety glasses or your child to wear safety glasses, you can bring your own or purchase them here online.

We run adult classes, specialised workshops and casual sessions, team building workshops and corporate events in either mosaic or glass fusing. We also offer kids classes, casual sessions and holiday programs. You don’t need any experience to attend. We have great, well-trained and friendly staff who will help you with your creations. We have a great, arty studio. Come and enjoy the creative, relaxing and therapeutic experience of working with glass in an arty, colourful environment.
