Fused Glass Lantern Making Workshop

Took my 11 year old niece for her birthday. Was a wonderful experience. Beginner friendly.

This was the second time attending a class at the Glass Room Canberra. This time I made a fused glass lantern, which was great fun. Lisa had everything we needed, and the process was straightforward and well organised. It did help to go in with an idea for what I wanted to do, otherwise the choices and options can be a bit overwhelming!

Fused Glass Lantern Making Workshop

Another great workshop with Lisa at the Glass Room. The fused glass lantern gives you four ‘canvases’ to display your designs. There is a variety of glass available to choose from and you also learn how to cut pieces to what you need. Having now done the fused glass bowl and lantern workshops I’m planning to head back to do the coral bowl workshop too.

Nine of us recently participated in a private fused glass bowl workshop. It was excellent and we all had a great time! Lisa was helpful and patient, but at the same time she gave us space to enable us work on our own pieces without any pressure. Not only was it lots of fun, but it was also fabulous seeing the variety of designs created within the group. The finished products look amazing! Thank you Lisa!

Lisa was super knowledgeable and very generous with her experience and support. We leaned so much about glass and how to manipulate it and left with 10 new recycled vases and tumblers. Just excellent! We’ll be back for the tile workshop!

Glass Fused Coral Bowl Workshop

A group of 6 of us had an amazing time creating glass bowls. It was a celebration of us all turning 60 over the past 12 months and now we have something to remember the occasion. Lisa (our teacher) was fabulous - sharing her skills and expertise to ensure we all produced a beautiful bowl. Highly recommended. (We will be back to do other classes with her)

I attended one of the first classes a couple of years ago, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Two years on the chance to cut and grind glass, know about different kiln techniques, and know about layering glass to achieve different results made the experience, and the art, even better. Highly recommend.

I bought the class as an 'experience' gift for my niece. We went together. The class was relaxing, and a simple concept to create something beautiful. Lisa, the teacher, ensured we all challenged ourselves learning how to cut glass. Some of our classmates were return visitors and I understand why. Everyone's light catchers were unique and beautiful, even before firing. I'm looking forward to picking ours up.

Lisa's class is a whole lot of fun! We both enjoyed making tumblers out of the recycled glass bottles. To get the most out of this class, make sure you bring some bottles with interesting bases.

Glass Jewellery Making Course

A knowledgeable and patient teacher in a well-equipped glass studio for teaching. For this workshop we made glass jewellry with lots of colours to choose from. In 2.5 hours, we learned to cut glass, grind it, drill it, paint it and combine it for fusion.

I liked that the class was small (only 4) so we each got lots of attention from the Lisa (the teacher). And we got to do our own creations, not follow a template or guideline.

Looking forward to my post-firing earrings (3 pair) and a brooch.

Glass Light Catcher Class: Create and Sip

I had such a wonderful experience at Lisa’s glass painting kiln fire art class. Lisa is absolutely lovely — so patient, encouraging, and incredibly knowledgeable. She creates a relaxed space where you feel confident to experiment with the glass, try different techniques, and really explore how painting and firing can transform each piece.

What I loved most was how supportive she was of creativity, while still guiding you with practical tips so everything works beautifully in the kiln. It felt both inspiring and fun, and I came away with new skills and a real appreciation for the art form.

Highly recommend to anyone wanting to try something creative, learn about glass art, and enjoy a welcoming, hands-on class. I’ll definitely be back!

My daughter and I enjoyed the Glass Christmas ornament class, where we made a couple of Christmas tree ornaments each. Lisa had a variety of glass colours and shapes for us to choose from for decorating our ornaments, and we also learned how to cut glass to shape. I love the end result!

We had a wonderful afternoon making glass jewellery, and we were very privileged to have an international glass artist as our teacher. Lisa showed us many different techniques, how to use tools and I loved that we had full creative licence to create whatever we wanted.
