Doing exercises to work on gratitude can lead to improved quality of sleep, lower levels of stress and build emotional awareness. Gratitude is also linked to giving us more vitality, energy and enthusiasm as well as being known to significantly reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety and negative emotions like guilt and shame.

Researchers in neuroscience have found that when we express gratitude, our brain releases a surge of dopamine and serotonin. Dopamine increases our experience of positive emotions. So basically, it helps you feel good!

While serotonin contributes to feelings of well-being. Serotonin’s job is to help stabilise your mood. It also helps to get you feeling more relaxed, sleeping better, and digesting better. Put more simply. It is understood that expressing gratitude makes us feel happier more often.
What you'll need
A pen, coloured pencils or other writing material to write out your gratitude cards.
