The Guild of Objects is a Guild for all makers, artists and creatives; whether you are an everyday creative, an experienced creative, an “I need a career shift” creative, someone pursuing their creative journey as a side hustle, or wanting to explore your innate creativity for the first time.

Our mission is to connect you; the creative, with the skills that you need to progress your creativity as well as your creative practice.

In pursuit of our support for all creatives, the Guild runs an extensive number of workshops for all those seeking to connect with their own innate creativity. All our workshops are artist lead and small, we take a maximum of 10 enrolments to give participants the opportunity to let their creative juices flow whilst connecting with some newfound friends around our Guild table!

Whether you're coming into the Guild of Objects to purchase handcrafted artisan wares, attend one of our creative workshops with a local artist or to learn business skills from our experts, we welcome you to our humble home in Hardware Lane, Melbourne.

Our hope is that when you leave our home; that whatever you purchased will be not just your new favourite thing but it will still be your favourite in 10 years’ time; the experience you had and what you created in the workshop at the Guild will leave you talking about how nourished and inspired you feel with your friends, and what you learned in your coaching session empowers you and your business, so much so that even your competitors are talking about your businesses success!

What a lot of fun! Our teacher was skilful and so encouraging. It truly felt like we were in an artists loft in the Melbourne CBD creating our own pieces of abstract art. We were encouraged to experiment and let our imaginations take us on a journey. I came away with a piece which I enjoyed creating and one which I am quietly proud of. I had no previous experience apart from high school art class a million years ago. Our teacher even provided me with a non-alcoholic sparkling and the others with a glass of champagne. All tastes, abilities and styles were catered for in this inclusive environment.

Great class, great teacher, great art work was created. It was an absolute blast making art out of alcohol ink. Definitely going to do more

We had a blast at our boob vessel building class for a hens party! The space is beautiful and you have everything you need - all you need to bring is yourself and your creative spirit. We appreciated the Prosecco and cheese board!

Janine was a very patient, lovely and funny teacher. We would highly recommend her class to anyone wanting a special afternoon with friends.

A really relaxed class at Guild of Objects' gorgeous Hardware Lane studio, I learned a lot about the elements of abstract art and enjoyed playing with unique texture in my pieces. We worked on a series of warm up pieces before tackling the canvas and were even provided with tote bags to carry back our completed artwork!

Teacher has brilliant talent with teaching also calm approach with us. I truly enjoyed my learning although I was very frustrating and after I have done two Kokedama and I was so pleased I have made them. I would be willing to go again to learn more skill of using the strings.
Lovely hospitality

The teacher was very knowledgeable and had a lovely way about her. I liked the venue as it was small and had great atmosphere. The learning materials were good and we were able to take away the perfume we made. A nice way to spend some time with my friend.

It was bit tricky to find the entrance to the building, fortunately I was given a contact number for such situation. The room for the hand building pottery activity is cosy and chic. It is a small class which is perfect. I came with my 14 and 12 yo children. Janine, our lovely teacher is ever helpful, friendly and so patience especially with my chatter box son. She always praised his work which makes him more confident in creating something else that totally different. We were allowed to use all of the clay provided and even some more. We can't bring our pottery immediately as it needs to be dry and burn in the kiln. So, don't expect to bring it home on the same day. Overall, it was a splendid weekend activity with family.

I was disappointed that the item wasn't to be fired or glazed as per description. I have so far spent an hour phoning places only to be told they no longer fire items for other people. So I have been left with 2 boob vessels that can't be fired or used . Very disappointing because the class was fun- but postponed twice

I think the class could have been delivered online as opposed to driving in to the city. The class was a little expensive compared to some other classes offered through class bento (where you receive paint, brushes and livestream teaching). Having to pay for parking in the city on top of this, I think I will stick to the convenience of online classes.
Teacher was very knowledgeable and shared her skills openly.

Myself and a friend took part in an abstract painting class on Saturday morning. It was a 30th birthday present to get creative and try something new.

On arrival we felt very welcomed and entered a lovely calm and friendly environment. Our teacher was Andrea and she was fantastic! I am definitely not a painter and she made me feel confident in what I was doing and encouraged my ideas and helped me when I was a little stuck.

There were so many different paints, colours and utensils to get different layers and texture on our canvas. I had a wonderful time and learnt a-lot about myself and of course abstract painting.

I would highly recommend ClassBento to get creative and to try something out of your comfort zone. I am excited to paint again. Thank you!

What was the teacher like?
How was the venue?
If materials were provided, did you like them?
Was the class good value for money?
What did you do / learn?

This was a great way to learn about the basics of macrame. I found it very accessible as a beginner. Everything you need is provided, just bring along a bag big enough to carry home your finished piece. Jessie is a great teacher, very patient and will provide guidance when you need it. I recommend this class if you want a nice, relaxed few hours where you can take home a finished artwork. Thank you so much to the Guild and Jessie. :)

Loved the class.
Perhaps being more structured with the class. Eg intro to who I am. The type of art we're doing.
The handout was good but if it were split by intro, equipment , techniques, suppliers would have been easier to follow and less writing.
