We learnt to make leather flowers for a brooch or hair pin. Izumi our teacher presented an overall view of the workshop, provided all the equipment and supplies and showed us how-to make the flowers stage by stage. There was a fun atmosphere with lots of laughter. All our flowers turned out very professionally looking.
What i liked about the workshop was the variety of different colours used to make the flowers. Participants really had an eye for design.

The class was really great! They provided everything you needed to get the job done and there was work done on two projects: A set project and a personal free for all.
My one suggestion would be to bring a template/pattern for what you are planning to make for your personal project so that you don't have to draft it on the fly during the class. It would have been great to get a little more time to look at/practice lacing techniques.

My daughter absolutely loved the Reserve Garage school holiday program. It was engaging, hands‑on, and such a fun way for kids to learn about sustainability and reusing materials in a creative environment. The team made every activity exciting, and she came home proud of what she’d made and eager to keep reusing and repurposing things at home.

I loved this camp, went in school holidays all the kids were kind and loved our teachers louie and yaz. My favourite thing was building our diorama and being able to do what ever

Our teacher Izumi was well prepared with all the equipment and learning guides we needed.
There were finished samples to provide inspiration for our choice of fabrics to use on the clay balls.
Izumi took us slowly through the process of making the clay balls highlighting the materials needed and likely places we could purchase supplies. Then Izumi showed us how to cover balls with fabric pieces to make necklace attachments.
Workshop numbers we small so we were able to have a lot of help from Izumi to make a professional looking necklace.
I would recommend this class to anyone interested in Japanese craft and accessories.
