Want to play with clay in Sydney? If you're not sure whether to try clay handbuilding or wheel throwing, this unique pottery course lets you try both!

You'll get to start off with learning clay handbuilding techniques, including pinch pots, coil building and working with slabs and moulds before getting hands-on with the pottery wheel throwing and trimming.

Enjoy making your own clay projects at our local ceramic studio based in Drummoyne, Sydney. This course is taught by an experienced ceramics teacher, who will guide you through the art of making handmade ceramics.

Classes are for beginners with only a maximum of six participants per class to ensure you receive lots of attention. Bring a friend or come as a family group.

You will receive six kilograms of clay to start with and can purchase more if needed at $25 a bag. Additional fees apply if you'd like your own tool starter kit.

Please note: There will be a total of four classes to attend over five weeks. Each session is two hours and you must be available for the times and dates offered.

What you'll get
  • You'll get to learn clay hand-building and pottery wheel skills. Over the four classes, you'll also acquire skills in decoration and carving. You'll be able to make a range of pieces, have them bisque fired, ready for you to glaze in the final week, before the final glaze firing.
  • Your pieces will be ready to pick up a few weeks later.
What to bring
Bring an apron and clear soft plastic bags to cover your work in between classes.
Session repeats

This class series runs over 4 consecutive sessions, at the same time every week.

Suitable for

This class is great for individuals and couples as well as for a team building activity, birthday, hens party or bucks party.

Suitable for adults, and kids (minimum 12 years old). An adult must accompany any attending kids, and must pay for a separate ticket.

This would also be a lovely gift for her, gift for mum or anniversary gift.
