This embroidery class is for those who have done any of my Embroidery for Beginners workshops.

Each class is tailor-made to your needs - either brushing up what you learnt before or moving into the sphere of designing your own embroidery.

You will have access to my vast design and art history library, as well as my past pieces. We will go through how to develop a design from idea to the fabric.

The workshop also includes morning/afternoon tea or supper.

A fibre artist, designer, teacher and history nut, I am fascinated by all forms of colour and pattern in daily life as an expression of culture and identity.
My influences come from various parts of history both ancient and modern, and the natural world.

I love teaching and sharing what I know, helping people to stretch their skills and create new experiences.

As a teacher with 25 years experience, I get a real buzz when a student who hasn't tried a specfic craft before - not only masters it, but becomes excited by the ways they can use their new skill.

I started in Jewellery design when I was in my early 20's, then discovered that all the things I love to do (design, dye, draw, felt, paint etc) could be used in the practice of 'Free Form Embroidery'.

I taught the 'Foundation course' in Colour & Design at the International School of Colour & Design.

I am a published textile designer & also run week long textile experiences in Tasmania every January.
I have exhibited many of my pieces in a variety of spaces & had one piece auctioned off to raise money for the Embroiderers Guild of NSW.

I bring all of these experiences to my teaching of Free Form Embroidery & encourage students to explore the potential of this art form.
