5 x 2.5 hours 1 to 20 label $320 - $360 ($360 per person when you book for 1-2 students, $340 pp for 3-4 students, $320 for 5+ students)

At these evening embroidery sessions you will learn the basics of embroidery.

This class runs over a series of five sessions that will suit beginners, as well as those who want to explore designing their own pieces. This is a series of shorter classes that happen in the evening, and are held once a fortnight.

On starting the class all students receive a full embroidery kit including instructions for each session.
At each class the students will be taught at least three separate stitches.

Students will be given skills they can use for making other pieces and other uses such as repairing clothes, decorating homewares etc.

For those who are more experienced I can show you how to design your own patterns.

Browse my design library for inspiration and I can help you to create something unique.

A fibre artist, designer, teacher and history nut, I am fascinated by all forms of colour and pattern in daily life as an expression of culture and identity.
My influences come from various parts of history both ancient and modern, and the natural world.

I love teaching and sharing what I know, helping people to stretch their skills and create new experiences.

As a teacher with 25 years experience, I get a real buzz when a student who hasn't tried a specfic craft before - not only masters it, but becomes excited by the ways they can use their new skill.

I started in Jewellery design when I was in my early 20's, then discovered that all the things I love to do (design, dye, draw, felt, paint etc) could be used in the practice of 'Free Form Embroidery'.

I taught the 'Foundation course' in Colour & Design at the International School of Colour & Design.

I am a published textile designer & also run week long textile experiences in Tasmania every January.
I have exhibited many of my pieces in a variety of spaces & had one piece auctioned off to raise money for the Embroiderers Guild of NSW.

I bring all of these experiences to my teaching of Free Form Embroidery & encourage students to explore the potential of this art form.
