Up-cycling is the art of capturing the original purpose of a piece and re-purposing to bring a whole new story.
Wrendell furniture pieces are made in a way that promotes possibility and value from things often thrown away or discarded.
Re-purposing may start with a quality pallet, an old door, a window or a cut down piece of furniture that has passed its used by date – adding your creativity & imagination - the possibilities are endless.
In this class we start off with quickly running through the class' personal interest in up-cycling and Wrendell's 25 year journey of upcycling and recycling.
You then will be taken on a sensory experience of understanding different pieces of upcycled furtniture in Wrendell's Wood etiquette collection. Getting to touch and feel each piece and understand what to look for when upcycling.
The class is then split into groups to brainstorm how to upcycle old pieces like a unused front door and also to butcher a polaris pallet with Wrendell.
Finally the class will get to learn how to paint and furnish a stacked timber piece that they are able to take home.
All materials are provided, so just turn up and enjoy.
Your finished pieces will be individual, unique & timeless.
This class is available on Request for groups of 10+.
Don't have a group of 10+ students? If you're happy to pay a higher price per person (total of $650 for the class), you can just Request to book this class for 10 students (and attend with fewer guests).

Well Hello.....My name is Matt Rendell. I have been into all things creative since i was young, and simply love the possibilities of what can be made or produced when somebody wants to build. I have been a carpenter for over 25 years, and have specialised in housing makeovers and refurbishments. for most of this time, I would collect the antique and vintage leftover timbers and resources, and have gone on the creative journey of furniture upcycling and re-purposing. Whether it be an old door, window or floorboards, a quality pallet, a table or old timber chair, I have loved the art of creating unique one-off pieces that reflect the beauty and patina of the wood art combinations.
We'll keep you posted!
