Always been fascinated by those beautifully-preserved beetles and butterflies in museum displays, or seen gorgeous specimens used as decorations and artwork in social media posts? Why not try it for yourself at Rest In Pieces' Insect Preservation Workshop in Sydney.

In this one-day workshop, you will learn all you need to know about basic insect anatomy from the expert Rest In Pieces team to be able to start on your insect preservation journey.

You will be guided step by step through processes of rehydration, specimen repair, pinning techniques and much more! You will also learn how to display your specimens too, a fantastic ornamental piece on your mantle or hanging on your walls at home.

At the end of this unique workshop, you will have created four pinned practice specimens: two butterflies and two beetles, as well as a feature insect that you will learn how to display in a shadow box.

Please indicate your choice of feature specimen via the booking question at checkout:

  • Ulysses butterfly
  • Death's-head hawkmoth
  • Beetle
