Introduction to Pottery Wheel Class

Learn how to make pottery on the wheel

2 hours 1 to 2 label $130 or 4 payments of $32.50 Afterpay

Let's get muddy!

This class will introduce you to 'throwing' (making) pottery on the wheel.

This class is designed to get a feel for the overall process of wheel throwing, not to make a masterpiece, yet! Wheel throwing takes practice and patience. This class will teach you the skills you need to start practicing.

We will spend the first half of the class learning how and why we prepare the clay. I will do a step by step demonstration on how to use the wheel and make a pot on the wheel with details, tips and tricks.

The second half of the class you will spend time on the pottery wheel practicing. This class is designed for a personal one on one experience. Wheel throwing is detailed, having a private class insures you will get the right amount of attention and instructions you need.

The final result will be different depending on the skill level. We will aim to make a functional piece at the end of each class.

This class is great for date night, birthday gifts or just a chance to learn something new!

A pottery wheel class for two in an artists' warehouse in Marrickville; all materials were provided and the teacher demonstrated the wheel, explained the steps and then coached us to make some pieces on our own. So much fun!

This was a very informative yet fun class. Andrea was such a good teacher and was happy to answer any questions. This was a surprise for my partner and it was a fun afternoon spent together. Great value and enjoyed it was a private class.

We had a wonderful class with Andrea. She was patient, kind, creative, encouraging and very good with my ten year old daughter. She found the right balance of teaching, coaching and helping and bringing her own practice, experience and curiosity into play. I would really recommend.
