Let's get muddy!

This class will introduce you to 'throwing' (making) pottery on the wheel.

This class is designed to get a feel for the overall process of wheel throwing, not to make a masterpiece, yet! Wheel throwing takes practice and patience. This class will teach you the skills you need to start practicing.

We will spend the first half of the class learning how and why we prepare the clay. I will do a step by step demonstration on how to use the wheel and make a pot on the wheel with details, tips and tricks.

The second half of the class you will spend time on the pottery wheel practicing how to make a shape. These classes are designed for two people max. This class is designed for a personal one on one experience. Wheel throwing is detailed, having a private class insures you will get the right amount of attention and instructions you need.

The final result will be different depending on the skill level. We will aim to make a functional piece at the end of each class.

After we finish this class, the piece will then be fired and glazed by Andrea within the following 3-4 weeks. The student will be able to choose the glaze colour.

Andrea will contact the student when the piece is ready to be collected from the studio in Marrickville, NSW.

This class is great for date night, birthday gifts or just a chance to learn something new!
