Aperitivo encompasses those glorious hours of the afternoon when Italians meet to relax over a small bite and an Aperitif. Join us for a lazy Sunday afternoon with a twist, as our expert Italian Mixologist teaches you how to create the perfect Aperitivo!

After being welcomed with a drink on arrival, a mixologist will share with you what Aperitivo is all about whilst also enlightening you with some fun facts about the history of Aperitif cocktails. They will then demonstrate how to mix up five classic Italian cocktails which you will have the opportunity to taste.

After gaining all of the insider tips and tricks from the world of bartending and how to fashion some funky garnishes from the expert, you will then have the opportunity to make three classically renowned Italian cocktails from scratch.

Whether you're looking for fun things to do in Melbourne or keen to learn new skills, this cocktail masterclass would be a great pick for you!

Please note:

  • Participants must have received a double COVID-19 vaccination to attend this event, and proof of the same will be necessary to take part in this experience.
  • Please arrive 10 minutes before the scheduled start time of the class.
  • If you are running late, we would appreciate it if you could let us know at your earliest convenience so we can ensure to accommodate you when you arrive.
  • We can cater to different dietary requirements, so please let us know via the booking question.

To create the best experience possible, we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our guests, chefs, and venue partners. Here’s what you can expect from a future in-person Drool experience.
- Our Culinary Instructors to wear gloves and masks at all relevant times.
- Social distancing guidelines in place as groups will be seated an appropriate distance apart from each other.
- Guests are expected to wear masks whenever not seated at their table.
- Guests will be provided the option to wear gloves.
- Hands must be washed upon entering the venue, and hand sanitiser will be available.
- Any cooking equipment used during the experience is properly sanitised by our partner venue and our Culinary Instructor, as is always the case.
- All guests that participate in the experience together will have their own set of equipment and ingredients that will not be shared with other groups.
- Guests will be divided into work stations of 2-4 people.
- The space in which your experience shall be held is always sanitised before and after class, however our Culinary Instructors shall be taking extra precautions to ensure the space is safe to use.
- All guests, partner venue staff and our Culinary Instructors must attest that they don’t have coronavirus symptoms before being exposed to the experience.

After completing his Masters Degree in Law in Italy, James decided to completely change the course of his life and move down under in pursuit of a new adventure. Having worked with the likes of David Jones Food Hall and Dan Murphy's, James has a great passion and vast knowledge for everything alcohol, with a passion for cocktails and wines. He loves to shed light on the story behind the beverage whilst sharing the art of bartending and all of the experiences that have shaped him.
