Loved this experience! I went with 4 friends and we all had a blast learning about truffles, watching Willow hunt them down, then taking turns digging them out for ourselves. Highly recommend.

Took my dog loving, foodie partner for his birthday and it was great fun! It was very interesting learning all about truffles and how they grow but we also loved watching beautiful Willow sniff them out! She is so clever. We each got to dig up a truffle and guess how much they weigh. Great to chat to our lovely hosts and have lots of cuddles and pats with Willow afterwards - she's very good at sniffing out the dog people in the crowd too! Lots of fun, would definitely recommend and would love to come back in a group for a hunt and tasting one day.

A well informed and enjoyable experience. Learned a lot about the cycle of growing and harvesting truffles and had fun digging one out and getting to purchase it. The tasting at Hairy Dog cafe was delicious too.

I don't normally leave reviews which really says a lot about how good this was! My Sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our truffle hunt experience last weekend. Our leaders Nathan and Chloe were extremely knowledgeable, accommodating and personable. Everything was super organised and the couple of hours we shared with everyone flowed real nicely. We all had a go at digging up truffles Willow had sniffed out for us which was fun. Not gonna lie, we were pretty obsessed with Willow, what a clever cookie she was sniffing these out on a rainy, windy day!! The truffle-tasting we had @ the Hairy Dog Cafe was so beautiful and was great to get to know the others we had enjoyed the morning with (note: there was plenty of food for everyone so would advise not to eat much before the experience). I was fortunate to be able to purchase a truffle tree prior to leaving for the cafe. Along with the tree I was given detailed instructions on how to go about, preparing the soil/planting and looking after my tree. I'm pretty excited to see if it produces any truffles, might have to get Willow to come visit in a few years time to let me know if it has or not. I would highly recommend this experience, even if you don't particularly like truffles as was really interesting and a lovely morning in Gembrook.

Keen on eating truffles and thinking of planting and farming some, the Gembrook Truffles’ truffle hunt and lunch was fabulous. It was informative, practical and gave a great overview of what is required to grow and harvest truffles. They patiently and helpfully answered every question with the intention of helping us really understand.Lunch was a fabulous degustation of truffle dishes which gave us a great overview of what you can do with this amazing fungi. Brilliant day!

Lovely solo activity with a great group of people. Thoroughly enjoyed the hands on experience, learning a bit of background about truffles while appreciating the challenges around truffle farming. The truffle tasting was amazing as well. Really good food that took me by surprise! Overall 10/10 experience so glad I gave this a go!

This was the best! Nathan and his wife answered all our questions and we learned so much about truffles. Finding them with the dogs help was so much fun, followed by the scrumptious tasting at the end. Highly recommended for a winter day out!

Willow and her owners Nathan & Erin, provide a fantastic insight into the growing of truffles. The hunt part was informative and hands on, with each participant being able to have a go at digging for a truffle. There is no pressure to buy the truffle you dig, and there is the option to buy smaller ones that are better suited to your needs. Erin and Nathan are so lovely and knowledgeable about truffles. They have a fantastic little set up on their farm for the tours. The truffle tasting at Hairy Dog in Gembrook wa also fantastic, with a variety of dishes to try. The recipe book was a lovely added bonus.

What a great experience was this truffle hunt. We had our beautiful helper Willow, sniffing and showing off her truffle hunting skills, and guiding us all through the truffle farm together with the wonderful owners. The tasting was another great experience. We all enjoyed beautifully cooked, and beautifully presented simple and yet very delicious truffle food. One of the best things to do if you are looking for a unique experience as well as delicious food. Thank you very much!

We had a great time and it feels like we learned a ton about truffles! Loved seeing Willow in action, and learning about the training of what it takes to be a truffle hunting dog.... it was also nice to experience, touch, and smell fresh truffles - including holding a monster sized one! Lastly, the truffle tasting at the Hairy Dog Cafe was the perfect way to end the experience and the food there was delicious. As a vegetarian, it was awesome that all food presented was meat-free too!

Great day out if you have any interest in truffles. Loved watching the truffle dog find the truffles and then to see them dug out. Food at cafe afterwards was also a great inclusion and a nice way to finish off.

Best of furry friends and fungi.I expected to be hunting truffles deep in the forest and getting all muddy. In reality, we were hunting for truffles in an orchard on a gentle slope with expert truffle hunting dog Willow and our hosts Nathan and Claire.It was a very enjoyable experience where we watched Willow in truffle hunting action while our knowledgeable guide Nathan explained and dug up the truffles. We even got a chance to get our hands dirty to dig up the truffles. It was a fun and easy truffle hunt experience and after which we went to taste truffle dishes at the Hairy Dog Cafe.

The truffle hunt experience was fantastic. Nathan and Chloe are so knowledgeable about the entire process, and watching Willow (ablely assisted by pup Rosie) sniff out the truffles was truly amazing! The tasting menu down at the hairy dog cafe is superb. I would recommend this as a great experience.

I absolutely loved the truffle hunting course. Not only did I learn the basics of how truffles grow but we got to go out on their land and find and dig up truffles of our own. It was an incredible experience and after the class, I purchased 2 truffle inoculated trees and after that, I went to a free truffle tasting extravaganza at a local cafe which was incredible. I’d highly recommend this course if you love truffles, it’s an incredible experience
