The chickpea tofu was make last week and it was delicious.

I really struggled with this class. It forced me to tap into my patience, calmness and stillness. Kathyrn was organised, friendly and helped me relax a bit more. I ordered the Matcha gift set and in love with it. When booking for the class, Kathyrn was fast to reply. It was easy to communicate with her. I don't have much "final" shots of my Wagashi cause they look like sh*** haha! But I won't give up in perfecting the art of making Wagashi. I thoroughly enjoyed the class and loved receiving goodies in the mail. Kathyrn is very patient and I liked how I had a private class with her. I recommend this class.

Both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our experience of cooking Momos with Catherine. Held in her home you were immediately welcomed as family and felt relaxed.

Catherine’s obvious love of cooking, her vivacious nature and gentle guidance made this class a fun learning experience for us both.

There was lots of laughter as we attempted to master the skill of wrapping our momos and to enjoy eating the fruits of our labour at the end of our time there was a great way to complete the experience.

Loved it! Putting the powder together and using the beautiful suribachi to grind the sesame seeds was an interesting experience, and I loved the explanation of all the spices. Word of caution though - because all the powders were pre-measured I put in alllll the chilli powder, and it was very spicy! Would suggest adding the chilli to taste rather than adding the whole measure at once. That said it is a delicious addition to our cooking!

Been looking forward to this class because i've always wanted to learn how proper momos are made and possibly to expand my cafe's product offerings.

I was greeted by Kathryn at her beautiful home and soon learned, much to my delight, that I will be the only one attending the class. I later learned that usually the class is likely to be cancelled but for some reason, she decided to proceed with the class, with a little persuasion from her husband.

We soon found out why as we discussed shared passions and beliefs, at home amongst her kitchen grown mushrooms and sprouting vessels, while we prepped and put the momos together.

She was very thorough and patient and you could tell that she comes from a place of understanding the ingredients, the flavors, method and technique. I still think it's serendipitous that we have crossed our paths.

I must've made 20 imperfect momos which i have sworn to keep practicing doing. who knows, i may get it perfect enough so people may soon be seeing it in my cafe!

Thank you Kathryn for sharing your craft! I'm so giddy with excitement at the possibilities you've opened for me and my business!

We decided to run our wagashi dessert making class for our team bonding day and it was such a joy We! We arrived at Kathryn's house in the Blue Mountains and were greeted with a delicious Buckwheat Tea. We made three desserts each and enjoyed the art of making them, each requiring patience and care. This class was excellent as it had you making the filling, the dough and rolling out the wrappings (which I have heard other classes do not offer). The teacher also takes you through a variety of wrapping techniques for the mo-mos. Another great things was we had the fresh steamed dumplings right after we made them and then had enough to take home and pan-fry for dinner and we were a group of 4 so plenty of food. Would highly recommend this class

I really enjoyed this class and like how my desserts turned out. There were some logistical issues that made things more challenging though. I didn't realise there was pre-work for the class as nothing in the confirmation email suggested this, and I'd been saving the kit I got to open on the day of the class. Little did I know, I was supposed to have prepared two doughs the day before! I think it would really be helpful to have the red and white bean pastes included in the kit rather than having to make them myself. Otherwise, the class wear very enjoyable. Thank you!

This Wagashi class was lots of fun and really meditative. Kathryn is a lovely teacher and really great at communicating and helping us when we're confused or struggling to get it right.
Kathryn spent lots of time prior to the class preparing the ingredients and because of that the sweets tasted lovely, not too sweet but the perfect amount.
Wagashi is the kind of food that requires really hands-on instruction and help, and the results came out really nice, especially for my first try! The class is lots of fun and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone interested

Kathryn's Soba making class was really informative and lots of fun. She is a really great teacher and incredibly knowledgable in preparing such labour-intensive foods such as Soba!
Soba is a very intimidating thing to try and learn on your own, and Kathryn offers really important hands-on information and tips throughout the whole lesson. When I try and make soba on my own, I'll definitely be putting into practice and trying to improve with everything she taught me!

Kathryn welcomed me into her home like an old friend. She is sensitive and cheerful, and her home lovely and peaceful.

I think I had a feeling about it before going in but was pleasantly surprised to find out that Kathryn would be guiding me to do things the hard wayworking the raw ingredients by hand, putting in the labour to build things from the bottom up with no short cuts - a genuine attitude and respect for the process.

The goma tofu felt minimal and full of vitality. It is 3 ingredients (one being spring water) worked into a lovely delicious dish.

We used an authentic grinding bowl and stick made of sansho wood, a pleasure to handle, and I stopped caring about time whilst slowly and patiently grinding away.

I learned, as described, how to make a simple, beautiful dish, but also found a touch of spirit in the process.
