Greek Mezze BBQ Cooking Class

Learn how to put together the perfect Mediterranean Mezze in Sydney!

Love grazing? During this relaxed and casual class enjoy making the following Greek dishes which you will enjoy Mezze platter-style!

What you'll be cooking:

  • Sheftalies: traditional Cypriot sausage made with simple ingredients and cooked over charcoal.
  • Pork souvlaki: popular Greek street food of pieces of marinated meat and vegetables, grilled on a skewer.
  • Pitta bread with pocket: yeast-leavened Mediterranean flatbread.
  • Tzatziki: salted yoghurt and cucumber dip.
  • Grilled halloumi: truly delicious Cypriot cheese.
  • Salad: cabbage, parsley, tomato and cucumber with tahini dressing.
  • Chef-made dessert of Lokoumathes: fried dough dipped drizzled in honey or syrup

This is a hands-on and informative class where you will actively prepare the above dishes. You will be guided by your teacher Ana as she shares her love of cooking these flavourful dishes with you in a relaxed and comfortable environment.

Feel free and welcome to ask Ana any questions you may have about her love for food, cooking and sharing a delicious meal!

At the end of the class, enjoy your delicious Mediterranean Mezze feast with the rest of your classmates and return home with the confidence to continue cooking.

Please note:
  • We will endeavour to cater for common dietary requirements when advised no later than five days in advance.
  • Children between the ages of 10 -17 are eligible to attend provided they are booked in together with a participating Parent/Guardian over the age of 18 at a ratio of 1:1. 
  • Sydney Cooking School (SCS) reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class for reasons concerning SCS. If a class has been cancelled due to low attendance, sickness or any other matter regarding SCS, all students will be notified within 48 hours of the class commencement date, and given the option to reschedule to another date, or full refunds provided.


Please note: Public dates for this class require at least 6 guests to run. In the unlikely event that we don't reach this number, we'll cancel the class; in this case we'll inform you and allow you to get a refund or reschedule, so please watch your email/SMS one day prior to the class.

  • We provide aprons for use while you are cooking, chilled drinking water and a themed alcoholic beverage to enjoy with your meal.
  • Recipes of these incredible dishes will be provided to take home.

Ana was born on the coast of Cyprus, a small dot on the map but a heavenly place surrounded by turquoise, blue beaches and luscious, green forests in the bustily, cosmopolitan, seaside city of Limassol.

"My love affair with cooking was sparked by my mother. My mother’s kouzina (kitchen) is where I learnt to cook with no recipes, no measuring cups, spoons or scales. She would often wait until I finished my homework to begin dinner and I loved every minute of it!"

Although Ana didn’t pursue a full-time career in food, she thoroughly enjoys re-creating traditional, simple and flavoursome meals for her family and friends and it is her well-loved favourites that she'll be sharing with you.

As well as our regularly scheduled classes, we offer masterclasses in Pastry, Chicken & Duck and Pork & Cider, as well as Children’s School Holiday classes.

If you prefer to be out of the Kitchen join us in our fabulous BBQ area for one of our Popular BBQ classes – Things really heat up in these classes so ensure you dress comfortably.
