What you'll do
In this popular live streaming class, your talented and supportive teacher Carlie Edwards will walk you through the fun process to paint your own beautiful Australian birds!
You’ll get to play with a range of simple watercolour techniques and special effects at home that will help get you relaxed and confident with this gorgeous medium, before creating your lovely watercolour bird artworks.
We’ll give you a series of bird templates to choose from, so there are no drawing skills required. This means everyone’s creations are different; you get to embrace your creativity and add your own artistic flair!
We love seeing your unique artworks, but for those who prefer to follow a step-by-step process, Carlie will walk you through one simple bird and one more advanced bird during the workshop.
Over two-and-a-half-hours hours you'll learn:
- How to apply watercolours
- Tools and techniques to achieve special effects
- How to navigate ‘happy accidents’ and simple ways to make corrections
- Colour mixing, colour theory and how to choose colours for your artwork
- Tips to frame your brand new masterpieces!
The workshop will be delivered over an interactive Zoom session, with the option for your own complete watercolour craft box delivered to your door. Can't make the session time? Don't worry! You'll also receive a recording of the entire workshop afterwards via email, to replay whenever you like!
Painting tropical birds in loose, flowing colours is a beautiful skill to learn, and is the perfect way to introduce you to the mesmerising art of watercolour!
Please note: Although boxes are dispatched the same or next business day, they may take longer to arrive than usual due to the current NSW and VIC lockdowns, so I'm currently unable to guarantee delivery times. If booking too close to the workshop, your kit may not arrive in time for the live session, however, an Express Post upgrade is available. You will also still receive the workshop recording to playback whenever you like.
