Paint Beautiful Watercolour Insects at Home

From the tropical Daintree Rainforest to our own backyard gardens, there’s a myriad of Australia’s own native fluttery friends that are begging you to paint them!

In our newest exciting watercolour workshop, you’ll learn some cool, creative and fun techniques to paint some of your favourites from sweet Blue-Banded bees, flamboyant Ulysses Butterflies, alluring ladybirds and elegant Tiger Dragonflies; what a wonderful celebration of Australia’s own beautiful little fauna (yes – we never knew a blue bee existed either!)

Watercolour and its loose, fluid style is a beautiful skill to learn, and our workshops are a perfect introduction to this gorgeous medium, even if you’ve never tried it before.

Join Aussie illustrator Carlie Edwards as she first guides you in a practice session on mixing colours, brush techniques, layering, special effects and how to add detail to your final piece. Then the fun begins; choose from a range of insect templates included in your kit to create two of your own masterpieces during the workshop.

Enjoy playing with vivid colours to bring our well-loved fluttery friends to life, as Carlie walks through a simple painting and a more advanced painting. Choose to follow along step by step, or get creative with your own colour combinations.

You'll be equipped with a myriad of new skills to "wow" your friends with a beautiful handpainted card or gift, or create some gorgeous new artwork to frame on your wall!
