What you'll do
Looking for unique experiences in Tasmania? Join a fully-guided tour of Old Kempton Distillery and delicious gin tasting with the experts.
Dysart House in Kempton has been home to Old Kempton Distillery since November 2015. On-site we make a variety of spirits including; single malt whisky, gin, liqueurs and special releases. All made using 100 per cent Tasmanian ingredients.
Your fully guided tour starts with a short history on Dysart House and outline of the distillation process. You will then get the opportunity to go behind the scenes, allowing you access to the distillery and bond store, which is full of maturing whisky and barrels of all shapes and sizes. There may even be a few ghost stories!
Following your tour, you can take a seat in the stunning tasting rooms, located in the grand coaching inn that is the Old Kempton cellar door. Your tour will finish with a guided tasting of a variety of four Old Kempton Distillery gin products.
Finish your afternoon with a browse in the cellar door, full of all our Old Kempton Distillery products, spirits and souvenirs of your visit, or continue relaxing with a delicious optional lunch.

Using Tasmanian barley and water to make smooth, caramel and spice single malts, this small craft distillery offers hands-on learning experiences, giving you a backstage pass into the intricate workings of a whisky distillery.
Located in an 1840s mansion in the picturesque town of Kempton, Old Kempton Distillery welcomes you to take a closer look into the fascinating process of creating spirits. Although whisky is the focus, Old Kempton also makes gins and liqueurs on-site, giving you a broad insight into the methods of distillation.
