Cricut Class: Iron-on

Using heat transfer vinyl can be tricky. Save yourself from simple mistakes by signing up to this Cricut class in Penrith!

You will learn how to correctly cut, place and apply heat transfer vinyl using your Cricut machines as well as which base materials work (or don't!) with different types of iron-on material.

What you'll learn:

• About the different types of Cricut Iron-On, how to choose the right iron-on for your project, and what tools and equipment you need to work with it.
• How to operate the Cricut EasyPress and how to use the online Cricut Heat Guide to determine the right temperature, time and pressure for ironing on designs.
• How to select a single colour/layer image and cut, correctly place and apply it onto a tote bag.
• How to use the offset feature in Cricut Design Space to create a multi-layer Iron-On design and apply it onto a t-shirt.
• How to use the Slice, Weld, Contour, Align, Duplicate and Flip features in Design Space.
• How to work with images, including searching for images using filters, key search terms and image sets, as well as uploading, cleaning and converting images for use in Design Space.
• How to cut and apply a simple iron-on design onto non-fabric items such as leather, faux leather, Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or Polyurethane (PU).

At the end of the class, you'll have completed three projects to take home and the skills and confidence to make many more!

Have completed Getting Started workshop or know your way around Design Space.
  Three projects will be made during the class which you will take home.
 

• Cricut Machine and Device, one plain cotton T-Shirt
• One plain cotton tote bag (any colour).
• Makeup bag or purse made from leather, faux leather, Polyurethane (PU) or Polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
• Other supplies required will be advised in class info sent on registration.
