Nothing sets the mood of a room quite like lighting your favourite candle. Take this beginner-friendly pillar and container candle making class and start crafting your own signature candles for your personal use or to start your own business.


This workshop includes how to identify common problems encountered when making candles, their causes and how to troubleshoot. Learn valuable tips and gain comprehensive knowledge of candle making techniques and materials. You will also learn about colours, scents, additives to use and when, how to properly choose the correct wick for the waxes and containers and most importantly how to conduct the candle testing.

During the class, we will cover:

  • How candles work
  • Different types of waxes and their uses
  • Wick, fragrances, and pigments
  • How different moulds produce different results
  • Candle care and safety
  • Equipment and tools
  • TROUBLESHOOTING (and how to fix them)

EXTRA: you can purchase extra candles to make during the class
You are allowed to reschedule up until 5 days before the class, you can either send someone else to attend the class for you or you can pay a $30 fee for rescheduling.

Your instructor has years of experience making beautiful, artisan candles. She will teach you all the best practices, tips and tricks she’s learned over the years, so you’ll be able to craft a wonderful candle the very first time.

This class is perfect for all candle lovers or those wanting to start a candle business. It also makes a great team building activity, fun birthday party or unique couples' outing.

Hi there

My name is Elena and I start my business Bellanina Creations in 2016 making candles

Candle making is a form of art and in one that I have a wealth of knowledge and expertise gained over many years of candle making. My expertise goes far beyond wax and wicks. I have hosted many classes and met many wonderful people and each time it truly brings so much joy to my heart just by seeing people from all walks of life including first-timers, hobbyists and entrepreneurs enjoying my class making candles.



Throughout my class, I ensure everyone is involved and engaged having a hands-on experience at making candles. I discuss how different ingredients react and how to work with them safely, how candle testing is conduct and all the troubleshooting you might encounter on your journey. At the end of my sessions, I only hope that I made a difference to someone not only by improving their knowledge and skills in the subtle art of candle making but also ensuring a fun weekend experience had by all.



I must also mention that I do my absolute best in protecting our beautiful planet. I make every endeavour to ensure the products and the ingredients I use is sustainable and ethically sourced where possible. I would like to add for your peace of mind - my fragrances are completely vegan and cruelty-free and adhere to RIFM and IFRA standards for safety and purity.



My candles and my soap is created with passion and represents my craft.

FAQ
I wanted to ask if the soap making class uses essential oils (instead if fragrance oil) and what types of colorants eg micas.. and clays? Also do you use palm oil? Or can we use an alternative, thank you

I’m happy you asked me these questions and I’m happy to answer you.

I don’t use palm oil and good news there are many alternatives.
I use only essential oils for soap, no fragrances.
I use natural colourants like spirilina active charcoal and cocoa powder but
also Mica and clay.

I decorate the soap with organic dried flowers like calendula, lavender,
cornflower, chamomile and rose petal.
