What you'll do
This live streaming class is tailored for people who are interested to learn one of the most beautiful and elegant styles - Copperplate Majuscules (Capitals - Uppercase).
This workshop is suitable for beginners as well as those who want to refine their existing skills. Basic Copperplate minuscule/lowercase knowledge is required as we will not be covering the basics of pointed pen calligraphy.
During the live online class, you will learn:
- Fundamental strokes of majuscules.
- Breakdown of the majuscules.
- Forming the letters and thoroughly understanding the shapes of majuscule letters.
- Manipulation of the pointed nib for the execution of majuscule strokes.
- How to turn the fundamentals into variations.
The Zoom session will also be recorded for those who are unable to watch it live. Links for the videos will be sent to you after class has ended and expire in two weeks.
A PDF handout will be sent to your registered email address two to three days prior to the class. The class Zoom link will also be included in the email.
Knowledge required
Basic Copperplate minuscule (lowercase) knowledge is required.

My name is Cyrus, I am a full-time calligrapher and the store owner of Not Just A Card, a calligraphy specialty shop in Melbourne. I have been teaching and selling calligraphy materials online since 2016 and recently opened a brick and mortar shop in April 2019 here in Melbourne. I graduated from RMIT University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Design and later completed a master's degree in Visual Communication at Monash University. I can teach the following classes:
