What you'll do
Delivered by an industry professional, this super informative one-of-a-kind workshop will expose you to the many basics of silicone mould making and casting!
In this hands-on and interactive workshop, you will have the chance to mould an item with skin-safe silicone rubber and create multiple plastic castings.
During the three-hour workshop, your instructor, Will Huntley, an industry professional with over 30 years of experience, will cover things such as casting materials (foams, plastics, plasters, and silicones), release agents and mould types. Plus, how, when and where to use each and so much more!
This workshop is great for upper school teachers and their classes. But can also be applied in a more in-depth format for professional development and classroom fun! Please get in contact for large group bookings.

Knowledge required
No skills or previous knowledge is required. This workshop is perfect for beginners and intermediate students alike.
What you'll get
- One to two silicone moulds
- Multiple plastic castings
- Learn which silicone moulding processes are best for different applications
- Information on how to create a bubble-free mould
- Information on what pigments, dyes and release agents work best
What to bring
Old clothes or an apron, a notebook and a pen. You should also wear closed in shoes as this is a working art studio.

Will has a background in Film Special Effects; working on such projects as Alien 4, Austin Powers 2, Wild Wild West, X-Files-the Movie, The Edge, Jingle All The Way and much more. After that he moved onto designing and creating industrial design models for Nokia, Nordic Trak and Mitsubishi.
As a professional artist and teacher, Mr. Huntley will inspire and drive you to create artworks to the best of your ability. He loves being creative and loves sharing his knowledge and helping others even more! As an experienced instructor, he is confident in his ability to teach you art processes and materials, in such a way, that you will learn to create something beautiful in only a few short hours.
