What you'll do
On the search for relaxing things to do in Inner West Sydney? Join us and learn how to knot macrame basics and create macrame wall art!
This gorgeous Macrame design is called 'Yuga' and means elegance in Japanese.
Our workshop provides all materials, including a Tasmanian oak dowel and cotton cords. As you create, enjoy complimentary refreshments and socialise with like-minded creatives.
The approximate time to complete the wall art is four to four and a half hours.
You'll be guided through the process of creating your macrame art step-by-step and knot-by-knot. The skills you learn can also be applied to future DIY projects.

Hi! My name is Hideko and I am passionate about Macrame and Stained Glass Art I started PidegoArt so I can introduce Macrame and Stained Glass Art to help everyone to create their own art!
I fell in love with Macrame because it’s therapeutic, has freedom of design and does not require many tools! On contrary, Stained Glass requires many different tools and equipment but I love introducing the art form of Stained Glass to everyone!
I have been teaching Macrame at PidegoArt since 2021 and Stained Glass workshop from Feb 2023 and loving it so much :)
I also make Stained Glass Art and Jewellery at PidegoArt.

Hideko was absolutely lovely and a wonderful teacher. She was friendly, patient and a great host. The class was fun and well paced with regular breaks. Hideko provided snacks and drinks.
The hanging that we were taught was perfect and provided a good base to learn all of the beginner level knots. The end product was beautiful and I have already hung it in my home.
I had a great time and I would absolutely recommend Hideko and her class.

What a truly fantastic experience. Hideko was lovely, patient, funny, completely immersed in teaching me and having fun. I did this in my own, great way to have some "me" time. The set up and teaching was great. Can't believe how quickly I was able to learn macrame. Will definitely be back to Hideko to try out her stain glass class. The large macrame wall hanging class is a great introductory class to start your macrame journey. Hideko was a lovely, knowledgeable, patient teacher who offered a lot of insight into the craft and is amazingly talented. I did not expect to be able to create such a masterpiece as my first macrame attempt and I was very happy with the final product. The location was easy to find and the venue suitable and showcased Hideko's creative and skilful pieces of work. Cannot recommend this class enough!

This was my first time venturing into the art of macrame and I absolutely loved it. Hideko was a wonderful instructor - at first the processes appeared complicated but she had a way of explaining and demonstrating that I was able to quickly pick it up. I can't believe I produced this beautiful piece of work in only a few hours! The whole experience was wonderful - relaxing music played whilst I created my work in her charming shop. I completed this workshop on my own but would also be fun to do with a friend. And at the end you walk away with a gorgeous piece of art for your home!

I loved this class. The small class size was perfect, Hideko was a wonderful teacher, friendly and helpful. She had thoughtfully prepared a snack for us which was much appreciated. I was so happy to complete my wall art and be able to bring home on the day with me. This was a great class to relax and de-stress. Macrame is fun and I really recommend her class

The shop was the perfect location as we were inspired by Hidekos other work around us.

We had a great time making our Macrame artworks! It’s a fab little shop where you get real one on one support to make your piece. We would definitely recommend - it’s a great way to spend a Sunday getting arty! :)
Hideko was such an incredible teacher, she is so patient and gentle, it was a privilege to work with her. The space was beautiful has such a warm and cosy feel. Hideko ensured that I felt safe and she was very contentious and met all my health needs. I will definitely be back 10/10 experience.
