What you'll do
Embrace the beauty of flowers and plants using a pen and colour wash technique at this fun online drawing course!
Over three sessions, learn how to draw and develop your creative skills, as you turn your attention to the elegant curls and textures of petals and leaves.
What you'll learn:
- How to observe form and simplify to find your starting point.
- A range of drawing methods, techniques, hints and tips.
- How to add colour and tone with basic wash techniques.
First get into the zone with a short walk around your garden or neighbourhood, to pick a few flowers to inspire your art.
Back home, work with a small and friendly group to learn how to illustrate your florals - with techniques to capture the botanical forms on paper, and bring them to life with a colour wash!

Elinor Pickard
Elinor Pickard is a practising artist, a painter with drawing at the centre of her practice. Elinor’s interest in fine and decorative arts is reflected in her paintings, specifically those centred on botanical and floral subjects, rich with colour and often incorporating her fine gilding techniques. She also enjoys urban sketching and capturing the interactions between people, and the human figure within the built urban environment.
An attentive and encouraging art educator, Elinor has been teaching adults since 2016. She has also run regular children’s art classes since 2015.
