Kogin is one of the greatest Japanese traditional embroidery techniques, which originated over 200 years ago in Tsugaru, Aomori (Northern Japan). This technique is now very popular with existing sewing enthusiasts who are attracted to its beautiful and unique stitching patterns in colourful materials.

In this fun and hands-on live streaming workshop, you will learn KOGIN stitching techniques with choices of colour of thread and make two ornaments which can be used as a bookmark, an ornament decoration on Mothers Day flowers or bottle of wine.

All the materials are imported from Japan so you will get to enjoy an authentic and high-quality experience.

For all the people, I hope this opportunity would be a relaxed and enjoyable time with a hint of creativity and are able to maximize their happy moment in this toughest time.

I am from Tsugaru, Aomori, Japan, exactly where Kogin was born and I started learing Kogin when I was a child. So I grew up with many of the traditional art & crafts and those techniques in Aomori naturally. I have been building my skills and knowledge for more than 20 years and have helped sewers, to introduce the traditions overseas and want to connect with you for fun.

Nowadays there are so many new styles of embroidery patterns but used the original Kogin techniques are still being created by needlework lovers in Japan. Its design and texture are well cared for, beautiful, cute, warm, stylish, and modern…You will find your favourite one from same samples.
I would love to share my Kogin knowledge with all the needlework lovers!
