Looking for fun indoor activities to try this weekend? Let us take you through a fun and relaxing chalk pastel painting workshop to add a bit of colour to your day!

This beginner-friendly live online workshop is suitable for all ages and abilities, although we do advise that children under five have someone on-hand to help them out.

We'll take you through an easy-to-follow class, teaching you how to use pastel sticks, paper and pencils. Our facilitator, Beray, will be taking you through some simple techniques and instructions. There will be plenty of time to ask questions and discover ways to work with pastels in order to create your masterpieces.

Sessions will be inspired by various colourful themes such as sunsets, sunrises, and nightfall. We'll be using nature as our main themes, connecting with art through the beauty of the earth.

We advise covering your tables with newspaper to stop pastel dust from falling on to your surfaces. We also advise wearing clothes you don't mind getting slightly dirty.

To participate in the class, you will need some materials:
- Pastel paper (grainy surfaced paper is best)
- Pastel pencils
- Chalk Pastels

If you don't have these materials available, you can select to buy our craft kit along with the live online class, where all materials will be delivered straight to you. If you require a craft kit, you will need to book the class at least seven days in advance to allow for shipping.

The teacher was so lovely and very positive, demonstrating techniques and giving feedback on my artwork. The only downside was i had difficulty layering my pastels, they didn't want to work over the top, may have been the paper used maybe look into a specific pastel paper. Overall i loved my session and had a great time :) a great starting point for pastels with a gorgeous, friendly teacher :) and i created a pretty cool artwork.
