What you'll do
Combine two of the most popular fibre crafts at the moment - macrame and weaving - and create your own one-of-a-kind wall hanging with Rebecca from Made By Me Workshop!
Macrame is the art of tying knots to create patterns and form decorative homewares. Weaving is the art of crossing two groups of yarns, a warp and a weft, to create a textile or fabric.
To create your wall hanging you will be guided step by step through the basic techniques of macrame and then use your macrame ropes as the warp yarns into which you will weave other yarns to create your masterpiece.
Don't worry if you have never tried either craft, this class is perfectly suitable for beginners and those with no textile experience!
We have coffee and tea making facilities as well as some snacks to sustain you throughout the workshop but please feel free to come with friends and bring a bottle of bubbles - who says there's any such thing as too early?
Knowledge required
No previous experience required - suitable for absolute beginners or experienced crafters.
What you'll get
- Everything you need is supplied including a spool of luxury cotton rope, a piece of wooden dowel and a great selection of coloured and textured yarns to choose from to weave into your piece.
- Tea and coffee.
What to bring
- There is no need to bring anything except your excitement to try something new and a bag to carry your masterpiece home in.
- You are welcome to BYO drinks.
We have coffee and tea making facilities as well as some snacks to sustain you throughout the workshop but if you prefer your coffee barista made please pick this up on your way. Sample coffee is located close by in Mary Street but unfortunately they are not open on Sundays.

In light of the current COVID situation in NSW we have updated our COVID safe plan and have decided that for the time being we will only be admitting people to workshops who can demonstrate that they have been double vaccinated or have a legitimate medical exemption. We are also asking all participants to wear face masks that cover your nose & mouth inside the studio, we have disposable P2 masks on hand for all resin workshops that you are welcome to use but we will need you to wear your own mask when you enter the studio.
Workshops are kept to small groups with no person to person contact required. We will be taking extra precautions to ensure all work surfaces, equipment and supplies are cleaned and disinfected before and after every workshop and that sharing of equipment is avoided much as possible.
