This is a ClassBento LiveBox class! From the comfort of your home, share an artisan experience (whilst maintaining physical distancing) with your friends, family or colleagues, or just enjoy with some like-minded others. As seen on The Guardian, TimeOut, Broadsheet, Concrete Playground and more. Here's how it works:

  1. Book or Request your preferred time
  2. We'll deliver a ClassBento Box to you - this is a physical craft box containing the materials you'll need. Shipping is free, and your Box should arrive within 2 to 4 business days for Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra; 4 to 9 days elsewhere.
  3. Enjoy the class online. You'll receive a link to a Zoom meeting. On the day of the class, use that link to join the class. Class sizes are kept small, so you can easily ask questions and get immediate responses. Zoom is free and easy to use, on any device - smartphone, tablet or laptop. You're in control of your privacy - you can mute yourself and hide your webcam if and when you prefer.

Fairy gardens are even more fun than a doll's house! Whether you believe in fairies or not, a fairy garden is a must for the bottom of your garden or flat balcony. If there are goblins, fairies or unicorns about this will definitely attract them. This fantasy world is a great escape for you and your kids if you're struggling with self-isolation or just need a cure for what to do when you're bored.

In this live online class, you will:
- Learn how to grow plants, make a peg doll fairy, build teeny models and make use of found objects as well as plant a living garden with fun succulents.
- Learn to make fairy peg dolls with a unique personality.
- Make little props and models.
- Learn how to grow and look after succulents.
- Learn how to set up a drainage system.

At the end of this live online class, your kids will have a wonderful living world of succulents and fairy dolls to escape to when they've had enough of other things to do at home! This is also a perfect activity for a virtual kids birthday party to catch up as a group. We have some dinosaurs as well on request.

Please note if you are outside NSW we cannot send plants and soil over the NSW border for biosecurity reasons. In this case we will send you extra crafting materials as a replacement and encourage you to bring 4 cups of soil and a couple of small plants so you can plant along.

Add-ons available for this class

Medium terracotta pot ($5)

You can add these when you book (optional).

What you'll need
You need to supply a small to medium sized pot to plant your garden in, but any container will do, an old teapot, cups, bowls or whatever you may have around the house. I have had the best life ever, following my passions. I have worked as a script editor and writer and been a course leader and senior lecturer in the UK in film and TV and before that I was an illustrator and artist.

For the last 5 years have become increasingly interested in informal learning. I run classes around Sydney in different venues and concentrate on my passion of growing succulents, art and the art of teaching. I go by the name classbunny.
