Transform a block of clay into a teapot with pottery master Marion, who has ten years' experience in the field, has made various television appearances and is a member of the acclaimed collective ‘Bundeena Maianbar Art Trail’.
Learn hands-on techniques such as pinching and coiling to create your own unique teapot in this fun and stress-free workshop. Take some time for yourself, in the tranquil and scenic surrounds of Bundeena, as a form of art therapy. You'll get to keep your fully functional teapot - something to treasure for years or even generations to come! You'll get to apply your personal touch, such as choosing a glaze colour. And don't worry, your teapot will be 100% food safe and suitable for tea brewing.
Here are just a few things you'll cover:
• Overview of different clay types and their uses.
• Hand building techniques for shaping clay.
• Assembling different clay components.
• How and why are ceramics glazed and fired.
At the end of the class, you'll choose colours for your teapot, which will stay on site to dry, be glazed and fired twice. You'll be informed when the pieces are ready for pick-up (alternatively shipping can be arranged for an additional fee).
Make a day of it while you're here - visit one of Bundeena's pristine beaches or do a bush/coastal walk.
This class is regularly scheduled on weekends at 10:00am via the 'Book' option. If you would like to book on a weekday, please use the 'Request Custom Event' option (inside the date dropdown).
No previous knowledge or pottery experience is required for this course.
Includes all instruction, tools and materials as well as glazing and firing of pieces made.
Aprons are supplied but please wear comfortable and casual clothing that you won’t mind possibly getting clay on.

Hi Mary, I would like to attend your teapot making class with a friend but she is 7 months pregnant right now. Do you think her belly would get in the way? I just want to make sure she would be comfortable doing these classes.
I've had pregnant students in the past including one who was at least 6 months. If your friend can comfortably sit over a table then she should be fine.
We'll keep you posted!
