Description

You will come to class, and learn how to enjoy the process of drawing, by learning how to let go and feel comfortable with having pen to paper - and finding the therapeutic and meditative state that drawing for yourself can bring, and walk away from class with you very own Mandala.

A Mandala is a great place to start your drawing journey, because it will allow you to learn about line work, creating patterns, and working repetitively with different shapes.

What is a Mandala you ask- well Mandalas are very commonly used in the adult colouring in books available for sale everywhere, they are beautiful symmetrical illustrations which have a very long history... I draw them because I find the experience meditative.

Mandalas are:
" spiritual and ritual symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism, representing the universe.[1] In common use, "mandala" has become a generic term for any diagram, chart or geometric pattern that represents the cosmos metaphysically or symbolically; a microcosm of the universe." (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mandala)

"A Mandala represents wholeness, a cosmic diagram reminding us of our relation to infinity, extending beyond and within our bodies and minds." (http://spiritualawakening.weebly.com/mandalas-what-are-they.html)

I am Ivan, a creative passionate artist, who has been making art professionally for the past 5 years, but have been drawing since I can remember.

I am good with people, and making you feel at ease. I really believe anyone can be creative if they just put pen to paper and let themselves go - getting the time out to draw can not only be therapeutic but also mediative.

I am looking to take people on a creative journey, let themselves go and come away with their own piece of art they can feel proud of - starting with a simple mandala.
