Looking for unique things to do in the Moreton Bay region? Head to Petrie and learn how to make a beautiful copper ring under the guidance of silversmith Jemica Ostrofski.

During this beginner-friendly metalsmithing workshop, you will learn how to design and fabricate textured jewellery using recycled metals.

You will learn all of the basic metalsmithing techniques. Copper tube ring making will be explored and you will be able to practise your new skills using various hammers, mandrels and other tools.

A small torch might be used if ring sizes are very small, to stretch the small tube to the right size. Depending on how quickly you work, you could end up making two to three rings, ready to wear!

Mel Howe, busy mum and business owner of Sister 2 Sister Hair Salon the founder and creator of Workshop Sisters found it difficult to find crafty workshops on Brisbane’s Northside after trying to find workshops she could do with her son. This gave her the dream of creating that special place where mums, dads, sons and daughters could come together and bond while creating special memories by opening the back of the salon to the community for small businesses to conduct fun, crafty workshops.

Offering a wide range of fun and affordable workshops to suit our busy and time-poor lifestyles.

Meeks is a great teacher, she explained the whole process to us, and then helped us with each step. I really enjoyed this, never done anything like this. She had everything we needed and more.
