- Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty or wear an apron (inks can stain)
- A flat table
- Padding for your table (a smooth towel/felt/carpet underlay)
- Craft knife and cutting mat
- A drop cloth (a piece of calico or old sheet)
- Fabric (smooth natural fibres work best such as cotton and linen), t-shirts etc.
- Access to water for washing your equipment
- Old towels for cleaning/wiping up spills
- A spatula or spoon
