Learn how to prepare and cook mystical Moroccan and beautiful Middle Eastern cuisine taught in an interactive group cooking class in Brisbane! You will even enjoy a feast of all the meals prepared at the end of all your hard work and a guaranteed highlight will be making your own pita bread!

Cooking and eating are central to Middle Eastern culture and many home cooks spend hours, sometimes days, preparing an impressive spread of dishes for family feasts. Grains play an essential and versatile role in the diet, with dishes varying from chickpeas to burghal wheat, couscous, and more. Dairy staples include labna and halloumi.

Let us teach you how to create these feasts in minutes, not hours, and also learn how to bling up your presentation and get a round of applause at your next dinner party or family meal!

When it comes to dessert, it's a case of the sweeter the better. Nuts, fruit and fragrant floral flavours are also enjoyed, as can be seen in the Middle Eastern fusion dessert pistachio and orange blossom tart with strawberry and rhubarb syrup. We will also work our own spun sugar for decoration.

At the end of the class, you will have the opportunity to sit back, relax and feast on your delicious homemade food.

Sample Menu (you will cook three of these dishes on the day - the menu subject to change):

  • Homemade pita with nigella and rose petals
  • Fabulous chickpea, butternut and feta hummus with fragrant cumin and pistachio dust
  • Sun-tan pan lamb with creamy labna, chickpeas and roasted pears OR mysterious braised shoulder with date, pistachio and rose petal bling
  • Orange blossom tart with strawberry and rhubarb syrup (we will also work our own spun sugar for decoration) OR fragrant nut parcels with matching nut ice-cream with dessert dust of pistachio and rose
  • Baklava with lemon and pistachio bling served with house-made pistachio gelato

Please note: The menu is based on available seasonal produce and is subject to change at the experience provider's discretion. You will not have your own work station but will work in small groups with some of the lesson being demonstration and some of the lesson being hands-on. Please advise us of any dietary requirements in advance! The class is held in a fully licensed venue so you are unable to BYO, but you can purchase drinks at the bar.

Ada was warm, generous, fun and knowledgeable. She made the afternoon enjoyable while we learnt about all the different spices and ways to cook lamb on a rosemary sprig as a skewer over a bed of vegetables, delicious hummus, pita bread with black sesame seeds, baklava with sugar syrup.
The venue was clean and in a great location.
It was a great way to meet new people, learn about Moroccan & African cooking in a relaxed environment.
