Our private cooking space as part of regular practice, is disinfected with food grade sanitiser along with all equipment and materials. Gloves are available and frequent washing of hands is already part of our cooking class schedule.

Yes, it’s true, you really can learn to make your own mozzarella cheese! With some expert instruction from the SMC team, that plastic-wrapped stuff from the cheese aisle at the supermarket will be a thing in the distant past!

While you discover the main theories behind cheesemaking and the step-by-step methods required, you’ll be sipping on a glass of Prosecco and grazing on the signature SMC antipasto platters in this mozzarella cheese making class.

Then you’ll get hands-on with shaping the cooked cheese curd into balls and you’ll leave the class with your very own stretchy, wobbly, oozy fresh mozzarella cheese.

You’ll also take home the essential recipe card so you will never need to buy imported Italian mozzarella again!

Private group bookings can add a bottomless drinks pack for an additional $30 per person for the duration of the class - just let us know when you make your request.

The cousin duo behind Salt Meats Cheese, Stefano De Blasi & Edoardo Perlo share a mutual passion for honest cooking using quality ingredients. Originally based at Bourke Road in Alexandria, we have re-located our ‘Salt Meats Cheese Kitchen’ cooking school to our Circular Quay venue. At the same location is our newest addition, the fabulous rooftop Bar Ombre by SMC, now open for dining, sipping and events.

Queensland venues include Surfer’s Paradise on the Gold Coast, and in Brisbane, West End, Newstead, South Bank with Woolloongabba coming soon, plus our infamous mobile Fuel Food Truck dishing out the finest wood-fired Pizza and Italian delights every day on location or look out for us at an event near you soon!!
