My partner and I booked this candle-making class as a little date idea—and it turned out to be one of the most memorable experiences we’ve ever shared.
From the moment we walked in, the space was warm, welcoming, and smelled absolutely divine. The host made us feel right at home, guiding us through the process with genuine passion and so much knowledge. We loved being able to choose our own scents and vessels—it felt so personal, and the attention to detail was incredible.

Lovely set up with Tracy guiding us through each step from melting soy wax in a double boiler to mixing in the fragrance you pick out and finally pouring the soy wax into cans. Leaf candle co is run adjacent her husband’s hot sauce business in an upstairs warehouse room. There’s a dozen ready made fragrances for you to choose including sandalwood, watermelon lemonade, Bellini sorbet, clean linen, gin & tonic as a fragrance. The candles need time to set and will be sent to us at a later date.

Loved this creative and eclectic part of town so the distance was no barrier for me. Tracy’s candle making studio lived up to the creative reputation of the area. Tracy was a great teacher, very knowledgeable, informative and I love the part where she talked about how she turned a hobby into a side business. I also love the fact she uses recycled tuna tins and can tins! The venue was easy to find, heaps of parking spots and the studio was nice and cosy. When we got there we were greeted by Tracy, there was a lovely grazing platter to share. Then we had to choose our scent for our candles and then the workshop began. All materials provided, easy instructions, it was therapeutic and lots of fun!

I wanted to attend this class so I can gift my friends scented candles by Christmas. This class didn't disappoint. It is really beginner friendly. Loved that we used upcycled tin cans for this! You'll learn the right way of mixing and pouring the melted wax and how much to put in. Teacher was lovely as well and gave us handy tips on how to stick your wicks.
The scents were just amazing and I wish I could make them all!
